(Thread Starter) | Neutral : +1 score Interested in tubular, adjustable MS3 front lower control arms? I recently started an email dialogue with a gentleman who makes custom suspension parts (he currently is selling a lot of stuff for the Ford Focus) and have asked him if he has any interest in making stuff for our platform (I'm sure his rear Focus camber arms can already be used on our cars, as the SPC arms for our cars are the exact part that they sell for C170 Focuses as well). Here is his website; DOMINANT ...and here are some pictures of his Focus front LCAs: So, for those of you looking for a way to get some more negative camber, these might be the ticket. Thing is, he needs an OEM arm to get started with and to take some measurements from... Do any of you guys have some old arms laying around, or are we gonna have to start a collection to buy him some new ones so he can get started on designing/fabricating? Here is my original email to him, along with his response:
****EDIT**** Copied from post #92 So here's a bit of a "long-term update" from somebody running these on a Focus: https://www.facebook.com/topspeedperformance

| Not Ranked : 0 score I'm interested in this. What is the projected cost for this part? Are the control arms different between a mz3 and a ms3? If not i'm sure we could find the part from a wrecked on cheap.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I just call the dealer to confirm, but the lwr control arm from the Gen1 & 2 are different. The Gen 2 control cost less than the Gen 1 arms. I know i'd be interested in helping out for the gen2 folks. Are there any reviews for this persons parts to get an ideal of their quality.

| Not Ranked : 0 score the bushings will tear if you don't find a way to secure them in there. saitek tried to use the topspeed bushings and his own bushings and they both tore. he had to weld a washer at the ends to keep the front/back movement from tearing the bushing. i'd still like to see this guy make arms for us, even if jbarone is working on them already - more products/competition is better. |

| Neutral : +1 score Yes it will, you gain negative camber by pushing the bottom of the wheel out and keeping the top at the same spot. With a camber plate, you gain negative camber by pulling the top of the wheel in. This creates a tucking effect, so your tires will tuck inside the fender. With the control arm, you don't get the effect of tucking the tires inside the fender because it didn't physically change the location at the top of the wheel. Blue line is how a camber plate works, red line is how the control arm will work for gaining negative camber Last edited by justint5387; 02-11-2011 at 01:12 PM. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score This is the lower control arm, so as you move the lower ball joint out and the strut assembly does not move its spot, the bottom of the wheel is moved out... creating more positive camber.

| Not Ranked : 0 score The ball joint connects to the hub, and the hub connects to the strut. It's negative camber. |
