I'm looking for a cheap wheel for the track - and Konig Lace is the cheapest @ Discount Tire. I'd really like MB Weapons, but that's an extra $120. Edit: OK, what I'd really like is Enkei RFP01 or SSR Type-C. Both are way outside my budget.... Last edited by Haggis3; 09-15-2012 at 10:25 AM. | |

| Not Ranked : 0 score okay, so i read through all 10 pages and maybe i overlooked the post i needed. 2008 speed3 h&r springs stock struts, 1 degree front camber 1.8 rear, spc camber arms so i can adjust as needed. looking at 18x7.5 and will be on stock tires for now, would like to run 235/40 once they wear out. how much if any will i need to roll the rear to make them work especially if i get the back to around 1 degree camber to match the front. spirited driving and the occasional autox/track day. thank you all |

if you're looking at a 45 or lower offset I would roll for a 235. I would also run a wider wheel preferrably too

| Not Ranked : 0 score I thought this might probably be a good place to ask this. How badly does the wheel wells trap dirt with a rolled fender? I was washing my wheel wells and got like a pound of caked in dirt on each side as I don't think the last owner ever washed there. Its easy spray off with open fenders, but with rolled up fenders won't it be harder to clean out the dirt trapped between the flaps?

| Not Ranked : 0 score Does anyone have the measurements for the distance between the inside of the stock wheel and the suspension for an MS3/6, or even from the face of the stock wheel to the fender? I think that would help a bit when choosing wheel offsets as well, though with aftermarket suspension I'm sure the inside measurement will begin to vary. I'm looking at an 18x8 +45 to go on my MS6. With an extra half inch of width toward the inside but with a 10mm increase towards the outside, I'm looking at a wheel sitting almost 3mm closer to the suspension, correct? Nothing that can't be corrected with a spacer if needed, but could I get away without using one at all? FWIW I'd want to run a 235/40 tire, and I know that I will probably need to roll the fenders even at the current stock height (especially considering H&R springs in the future).

RX-8 wheels are 18x8 et50 and guys run 235s with no inside clearance issues whatsoever.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I've read this thread, and people have done 235/40/18 and it should fit with a roll and trim. But does 235/45/18 fit? I'm thinking of doing it on 18x8.5 +45.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I'm going to be fitting 17x8.5 +40 enkei rpf1's to my car for track/autocrossing. The tires that came on the wheels are 245/40r17. I don't have any fenders rolled, and are lowered on swift springs. The fronts fit with no issues at all. I will need to deal with the rears when a track day comes near. That shit pokes out lol... I'll probably need to roll the rear fender and I will definitely need to increase the rear camber. I"m currently running -0.5 at the moment. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score i agree. the reason i bought these wheels was because they were cheap, and when i did my measurements before my alignment which turns out the camber was about —1.7. and it seemed like i only needed a roll. but with —0.5 it pokes too much. ill probably put it up for trade or something for 8in wide wheels instead |

| Not Ranked : 0 score You can fit those 17x8.5 +40 without camber easily. You need a flat roll, small pull, grinded rear bumper tab, and stiff coils. That isn't even super aggressive... Remember suspension plays a big role in fitting aggressive setups. I am more aggressive than you and was fine with what was mentioned above. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score So here is my plan: put 235/40/R18 Michelin pilots sports on my genpu stock OEM wheels when the dunslips finally are worn out (probably at about 15k miles at the rate i am going). tire rack states the 235 tires require 8 inch wide wheels, so i assume 7.5 " stock wheels with 235s i not recommended? OP stated that the 7" gen1 wheels have had 235s on them, so i'd imagine the 8" spec for those tires is a conservative number? Can i do this without spacers? Or should i get spacers? I noticed the front struts are mighty close to the tires. Also, for drag racing, i want to get 16" wheels and the minimal offset that isn't retarded so i can fit some slicks on the front. The idea is to fit the most soft rubber without having to roll the fender or modify the suspension. Also how is the ESC affected by all these changes? No one ever re-programs it.

| Not Ranked : 0 score sorry for my reading fail. didnt see you were asking what offset you should use. but with those specs i think youll probably want to roll with the first setup, and definitely with the second. going with one size smaller on the tires will help a bit and still be safe/functional.

| Not Ranked : 0 score This may already have been covered but i am planning on running 17x9 c3s with 255/40/17 Hankook r-s3s next year for autox and i wanted to know what i need to do to make them fit. I cannot find the offset right now because now tire rack says they won't fit the rx8 that i had to select to get them to show up. I know i will need 5mm spacers up front. I am on stock suspension but am looking at possibly getting a set of H&Rs. I was told they will fit fine but would like to double check before i start buying the pieces for this setup. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Are the gen2 wheel wells really that much bigger than the gen1? That guy was running 255s and he had to mess with camber and roll fenders... |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I'm running an 8.5" wheel, with a more shallow offset. I'm already rolled. 1/2 = 12.7 mm and I'm already 3 mm more shallow on the offset. For a total of 15.7 mm. I think I'd be OK. Hmmm...

| Not Ranked : 0 score Okay, i have looked everywhere for this setup and can't find it... and i have very little experience with wheels/tires. I have a 2010 ms3(stock for now), planning on lowering on H&R springs, i'm thinking about running Rota Grid 18x9 +42, or 18x8.5 +35ish. something else. I really like the look of the rota's but i want to know what i will need to do to make them fit with no rubbing or very minimal under a load, also what size tire will fit best and will work well as a daily driver also. Thanks in advance for replies! |
