(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Engine mounts? How difficult is it to change out the engine mounts? and another question, is cobb still making the replacement shifter weight? just wondering... |

| Not Ranked : 0 score changing the rear mount takes roughly a half hr, not hard at all. having 2 people helps a lot as the engine may need to be rocked to get re aligned with the bolt holes. Not sure about the other 2 tho.... No, cobb's shifter weight has been discontinued, but if you do some digging you may find a few vendors still have some. i got mine from JSCSpeed. you could also just get a saw and cut half the stock weight off |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I have heard that some people drill holes in their stock weight for the same effect. The rear motor mount is cake. The side engine mount and the tranny mount are more challenging but very doable, you have to hold the engine up with a jack when you replace those two and I would recommend a tq wrench to make sure the bolts get tight enough. If you plan on doing the side mounts there is a great write-up on SUF, there may be one on this site as well but idk.

| Not Ranked : 0 score rear and passenger mounts are easy and the engine doesn't shift much. the tranny mount isn't hard, but you have to remove your battery and the engine really shifts if your jacks aren't in the right place. there's a great how to by abilor over on 247.

| Not Ranked : 0 score i took me about 2hrs to install my side mounts. now that i've had them out-in-out again, the last time i pulled them out was 45min. a torque wrench is an absolute must for any of the mounts, and i use blue loctite for piece of mind. torque specs for the mounts can be found in the shop service manual

| Not Ranked : 0 score The rear motor mount will pay off on a stock ms3, its a must have. The sides help but aren't necessary on motors that are just lightly modded, imo anyway.

i'd say upgraded rear and tranny mounts are worth it on an otherwise stock car (less wheel hop and missed shifts). an upgraded passenger mount is probably just preventive from the stocker going poop.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I have a CPe rear engine mount, and its like they combined some sort of magic pixie dust, and black magic voodoo to make a stiff engine mount that didnt rattle my car to death. i dig it. I tried the poly TRZ and Delrin TRZ and both were MUCH MUCH more vibrations.

| Not Ranked : 0 score With the mods in my sig i can def tell you that you need mounts all around! The RMM does a good job for a while but as you get closer to fully bolted it doesnt cut it. I have SU rmm in right now and getting the other 2 SU mounts when the mail comes. With my mods you can feel the engine move esspecially around turns. Also the whole engine shakes pretty good when you turn on the car and turn it off so i want to prevent all those movements. Its gonna suck for vibrations though!

| Not Ranked : 0 score I know it's been said a million times already, but the rear mount is easy and makes the car drive 100x better. After about 10 minutes trying to rock the new one in, I took out those two tranny bracket bolts and the thing slid right in and all the bolts lined right up. You definitely feel the vibrations but it's nothing major. For reference I have the street unit one with the street bushing.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I just installed the CPE-RMM / 60. The shifting is totally different from stock. Very direct and smooth. The install was very easy. Make sure you take the three bolts off of the tranny bracket. This will make the install a lot easier. There is a slight vibration when I tip the throttle, but it is very slight. Overall very please with the upgrade. My 08.5 only has 14,000 miles and the stock RMM look fine but the improvement with the CPE RMM is instantaneous. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score The rear mount is easy to install. Just 4 bolts. I did it with the car on ramps, it's a little tight, but you can do it. Once you get the mount in and are trying to line the 3 bolts up, just push up on the motor. I spent 15 minutes trying to wrestle the mount around until I figured that out lol. I put the SU mount in and it makes a huge difference. The power is now getting to the ground in 1st and 2nd (for the most part). |
