Default 70 Trilogy Initial Impression

Not that this really needs to be said again but Meh.

Alright after about two years I decided to replace my aftermarket motor mounts from a less than stellar brand to the JBRs. I gotta say my first impressions of them were why the hell did I buy anything else to began with. That was a foolish move on my part.

These mounts are solid and the car feels more planted vs the other mounts I had on there. Shifting is like racecar and the wheel hop is gone. Torque also noticeably less. As a bonus the vibrations have gone down. The other mount's urethane was beginning to fail (surprise surprise) which actually caused them to rattle more and caused my cabin to become a maraca and made want to kill babies. Now it just sounds awesome and racecar.

To anyone wondering about the overall noise and vibrations I say stop being a wimp and get mounted by JBR (engine mounts). Seriously the NHV it is not that bad at all and the performance you get from the mounts is totally awesome. This is my DD and I can tell you I can live with the NHV and I consider my self a wimp.

Also customer service from JBR is top notch (Sunday morning response anyone?).

Like I said none of this needs to really be said cause this is all common knowledge here but I just gotta say that I am completely happy the mounts. Still going through the break in period but if anything NHV should go down but seeing as I am happy with them now I really don't care.

Thanks Jamie! And bravo with these mounts!

PS also catch can is awesome but doesn't make racecar so no long winded first impressions about that.
JBR and MOCO MS3 like this.

What made you decide to go with the 70 duro mount over the 80 or 88? Would you say the stability of the 70 is more than enough?

Reason I ask is because I have the 88 duro mount, and while the engine is mounted in there solid, the NVH can be a little much at times, especially when cruising at higher RPM and speed on the autobahn here in Germany. I am really considering changing it to the 70 or 80 RMM when I have the money, but don't want to sacrifice too much stability, especially with a bigger turbo and the power and torque that comes with that. I also have both JBR side mounts (in 70 duro I think).

I decided to go with a full set 70 durometer cause I was coming from shitty mounts and hated the noise haha. They loosened up and caused extra vibs. I figured 70 would have the lowest NVH. I like how the trilogy mounts keep the engine planted (best way I can describe it). I probably would have done the 88 if I just did the rear mount. I figured all three mounts at 70 would be the same or better if as just the 88 but that's my opinion.

I personally wonder how 70 side mounts do with 88 rear. It is hard to say how much the NVH will come down with a rear 70. In terms of performance I really think a full set of 70 is good enough for me. I already got used to vibs from my shitty mounts.
