(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score 80a RMM installed-lots of vibration I just got a 80a RMM from your company last week and installed it this weekend. Well, the vibration and noise between 1000-2000rpm under any reasonable load is more than I am comfortable with. I now hear new interior panel rattles etc. Granted, the car definitely shifts and responds to throttle input better but not enough for me to justify the vibes on a DD. My questions are how much does break-in help, would a 70a insert make much of a difference;do you sell just the insert to swap, and could there be an install issue that causes more vibrations than expected? The quality of the part looks great and would appreciate any help. Thanks |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I thought the 88a would rattle my teeth out compared to the Sure street urethane because of posts like this. Then I finally switch, and although there is a marginal increase at very low rpms it's barely noticeable at normal driving ranges. Either some folks ares a bit too "sensitive" to any vibration or there are other things possibly amplifying an existing issue?

| Not Ranked : 0 score Its normal, any stiffer mount is going to transfer more noise/vibrations. I had the 88d, didn't care for the vibes, went to the 80d, it's a little better, but still very noticeable. There are other options, some guys are starting to use the ford efocus rmm, maybe look into that.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I've insisted JBR make a "vagina" mount with a rubber bushing. We've probably got a majority that DD the car, and the E-focus mount eliminates wheel hop, firewall bang, and you won't miss shifts. I'm corn tuned doing a little better than 300whp, which also seems to be very common for the DD crowd. I hate to suggest a Ford OEM part when one of our best vendors with the best customer service could be taking our money instead. Even if it required more frequent bushing swaps or was prone to material breakdown, it would still be a better solution than inserts on the scrawny OEM mount that is prone to metal fatigue and ultimate failure. 2¢

| Not Ranked : 0 score I don't even notice the vibes from my 88d RMM anymore. Honestly OP if you want the true performance of an aggressive mount you kind of just need to suck it up. You did buy a performance car after all, not a luxury car with a smooth ride. Either that or at least do some researching first as there are a ton of threads on RMMs on here. I'd say that the only constructive advise that there is would be to get a mount that better suits your needs.

| Not Ranked : 0 score The only way to research the vibes is to sit in someone else's car that is mounted. Everyone's tolerance for NVH is different, and some cars seem to transmit more or less vibes and noise with the same mounts. Exhaust mods have a large part in the NVH as well. OP should have no shame in asking for help about something subjective.

As long as the OP gives it 1000 miles or so to break in I think he will be very happy with his purchase, which is what I meant when I recommended he research before committing to a product. The vibes should die down significantly and he will still have the performance of an outstanding product. I was skeptical as well when I first installed my 88d, but now that it's significantly broken in people that ride with me don't even know that I have an upgraded mount. EDIT: OP, re-torque (or at least check) the bolts to make sure they are at spec after a few hundred miles. If it comes a little loose during break in it will add NVH and multiple threads mention needing to re-torque to fix excessive vibes.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Nothing else needs to be said. The point has been made. OP, recheck everything per the instructions and then do it again. Give it close to 1k miles before you decide there is too much NVH. Along with what others said, if you were looking for performance but the feel of a DD you would have read more in plenty of threads that people decided to do with the 70d and that the people want *racecar* were more then likely running 80-88d mounts. I understand that your just expressing your views. But you really need to give things like this time before you can understand how it truly performs, bringing it to it's limits and understanding the things you sacrifice with performance sometimes. Come back in 900-1k miles and then let us know how you feel about it. -Pat

| Not Ranked : 0 score As mentioned above, confirm the installation. Best to remove it and reinstall. Then let it break in. You have a a great mount now. Give it some time. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score How much of an improvement is the 70d over stock? Is it still significant enough to warrant a $125 price tag? Because I would like my car to have slightly better performance but I will not be driving it hard or tracking it. |

| Anything is a vast improvement over stock. That mount doesn't even belong on a prius. With that being said, I think the 70d is a pretty damn comfortable mount.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Dont over tigten the bolts. Domt under tighten the bolts. Check the bolts for tightness frequently. The only things that rattle for me are: Plastic containter on roof that holds glasses, lights for front seats and sun roof controls. Cig container Cup holder This is fixable. Just need to get something soft material like rubber to stop the rattles.

| Not Ranked : 0 score So when one decides he wants a motor mount does he bother reading about them and see what to expect? Or does one buy it and say hey I got a motor mount but then not know anything about them? Just curious.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I bought all three in highest, after install I was thinking, "Shit, what did I do." Then a few thousand miles later all I hear is all the engine noises. Sometimes I wish I would have went with the 70 all around, especially since the rear mount design update, but I'm a guy so I can justify any decision by saying "fuck it"
