Default why do i always lean out in the 55xx rpm range till redline.

hey all i have 0 problems with boost, my afr are spot on till like 52-5500 rpm then they star leaning. like if i request 11.8 it goes to like 12.1 which i know some say is safe but i dont like it. i think i am just gonna copy my wgdc to a ots map and redo maf cal? ideas, thanks

take a wot log, take your actual afr and dived that by your target afr. then multiply that times the areas in your maf cal which are going lean, for example, say at 5800 rpm your at 12.1 and targetting 11.8. 12.1/11.8 = 1.025 say you're at 280 g/s, for that part of your maf cal just multiply by 1.025, same goes for rich say 11.4 actual, 11.8 targetted, 11.6/11.8 = .996

Update your AP. Your datalog rate is still the old slow one.
FP looks ok.
Your AFR looks to be between 11.9 and 12.2 across the rev range not just past 5.5K rpm.
Overall looks ok to me. If you want to richen up the mixture I would just do it via requested AFR.

When in open loop, you want to adjust your af ratio by maf volts, and make sure the issue happens consistently @ the same maf voltage.

Take your exhaust reading, divide it by commanded wot afr's to get the multiplier for the maf voltage you are correcting.

E.g., you mentioned you wanted to correct 12.2 exhaust readings from 11.8 commanded.

12.2 / 11.8 = 1.03 = multiplier to apply to the maf voltages that you want to correct.

I always remember it this way:

E/D = erectile disfunction = exhaust / dic(k)tated = correction factor.

Sorry, but I bet you remember it now too. LOL

thanks fink heres a short log from yesterday, sorry i didnt go higher in rpm. but i was just wondering if you could walk me through the adjustment per the log. i am requesting 11.4 afr at the 1.25 load and 2500 rpm as per abilors guide through the range.

edit: ap is updated. also i did just move the coolant lines off my cold pipe so i dont know if the heat affects it but thats why my bats were so high.

ok fink lemme pull about 3 more so i can see if it is consistent and try and get a lower rpm as well. then can i email you and see if we come up with the same thing to change?

Interesting thing that I see here is gen1 cars usually have a -.16 in when in o/l, whereas your car has a .62

Does your closed loop max load D table reflect the 1.25 load value that you want to target 11.4 afr's with?

I see what you mean as far as leaning out some.

I'm sure we can get it worked out... just need more info.

those are my max load d tables. there from the new ots map. is that a issue? and i had .16 but changed my maf cal. let me go back to the other cause this change did me no good and the other is only 5 different at top. this one maxes at 383 that one is 388 for example and i think i did always see .16 in ol. lemme check my first log with the other maf cal.

yep datalog 2 in post 4 has the .16. i think i need to just throw down a new maf cal for safety sake or can the current be saved?

Skeeter,

Your closed loop max load tables show that you want to enter open loop fueling @ 1, whereas your fueling maps (judging from posts above) are set up for a transition of 1.25.

Here is an example of how you might want your fueling tables to look if you are telling the ecu, "my max load I want you to stay in closed loop is up to 1.25". (note targeting 12.0 here, but you get the point)

Based on the strange ltft reading @ wot, and the leaning out issue, I would start with a fresh
maf cal. starting from an ots maf curve.

I.e. - no need to start entirely over, but you may want to copy and paste the ots maf curve into your map, drive for about 50 miles or so and give the maf cal another shot.
