(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Hello from VersaTune Hey Guys, On behalf of everyone at VersaTune, I wanted to say a big hello to everyone here on MSF. VersaTune is proud to be an authorized vendor on MazdaspeedForums. If you have any questions about our tuning software, please do not hesitate to post here or contact us in whatever way works best for you. Here's a quick description of VersaTuner: VersaTuner is an easy to use wizard driven Windows based software tuning solution for Mazdaspeed3, Mazdaspeed6, Mazda 3 MPS, Mazda6 MPS, and Mazda CX-7 vehicles. It uses an industry standard SAE J2534 vehicle interface (Tactrix OpenPort 2.0/Drewtech Mongoose or similar) to communicate with your car's ECU. This is the same method used by dealers to perform ECU updates. There are pre-built tunes available via an online tuning database as well as custom tuning of over 150 tables and constants. If you aren't comfortable tuning your own car and want more than an off the shelf tune can offer, the good folks at PERM are happy to work with VersaTuner customers. In addition to the various tables and constants, you can easily customize your tunes to add the following features:
With the Virtual Dashboard, VersaTuner provides real-time data monitoring, data logging, and graphing. Your tunes and logs are conveniently stored in a local database and can be easily exported to share with others. Logs can be exported in native .vtlog format or standard .csv for posting or importing into third party tools. We offer world class customer service and have customers on four continents and the Caribbean. For more information about VersaTuner, check out the website at www.versatuner.com Thank you, Steve |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Good to see another option especially for the people with non USDM ecu's and the CX7 guys. I remember reading way back on 6lcub when you first started working on the ECU/software. You have come a long way. @Lex you have obvioulsy used both the AP and VT. I am curious as to how the table selection compares between the 2. Obviously ATR has quite a few options and we get done what we need for the most part, but we do know there are also several that are lacking. Are you at liberty to discuss the differences? I would espcially be interested in what the tables options are for tuning low load timing or how they handle WGDC/boost/load targeting

| Not Ranked : 0 score No shit....you guys are in South Lyon? That's just up the road from me. This begs the question then, what do you offer in terms of tuning services? What is the price (if you do tune) in addition to the software, or.....would you be willing to work some sort of deal to avoid buying the software by locking the tune? Edit: when, if ever, do you plan on supporting the 2010+ MS3?

If you feel like dropping in, I'll be at Speed Industry in Troy at 6:00PM on the 5th to dyno my car. I'm running a GT3071R @ 30 PSI ~380 g/s. I'm also going to be getting the final numbers on the stock MS3 w/ High Load tune. Gen II MS3 is in the works. We're making progress, but no ETA yet. I hit 3.0 in good cold air. Is that considered a crazy load level? Last edited by Steve@VersaTune; 12-13-2011 at 07:36 PM. Reason: MSF Database - Automerged Doublepost

| Not Ranked : 0 score I had versatune very easy to use but the only problem I didn't like is that you have to buy a Tactrix Openport 2.0 OBD 2 plug which cost $169.00+ shipping. Need to come out with a cheaper OBD 2 plug. |

One nice thing about using a J2534 is that a group of local people can share it if cost is that much of a concern.

| Not Ranked : 0 score VersaTuner has a different interface and slightly different table names from COBB. It does however perform the same functions and can handle stock turbos as well as big turbos alike. It is a good alternative to COBB and if you've used one, you can use the other. For MPS owners and CX-7 owners this is great news since COBB does not cover you guys. As far as e-tuning, I personally don't care what you use - I can achieve the same results with either tuning solution.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Oh, this needs to be made possible! Can do it on MS3, and that has been the biggest complaint. I can only imaging the potential of awesome unleashed with this option. FYI, my wife's CX-7 with the TMIC/CAI alone made it pretty quick, back in the day. Enough to sadden most SUV and boy racer Honda owners who thought she was slow. It is retured to baby hauling now, all stock and boring. @Alpha Wolf |

I have a question, is the commercial version of versatuner locked on a per vehicle basis? Or can it be used on multiple vehicles simultaneously?

@Ugnius@VersaTune 1. Do you have a document describing what the tables do and how they interact with each other? 2. EGR control 3. VTCS control 4. Injection timing - something COBB is working on AFAIK but not sure on the progress
It is locked to a particular vehicle. However you can open and edit tunes from any vehicle. You just can't flash them. Steve and Ugnius - is the CX-7 version released? Would love to get my hands on a CX-7 to tune. Any takers?

| Not Ranked : 0 score Been using VT for a couple of months, I'm the one with the BT that @Lex is helping with the tuning. And I'm loving the software, super easy to use and great features. Here in Sweden we have been stuck with SB or Ecutek up until now and since the tuners in Sweden don't have the experience with the mazdaspeeds that you have over there, this is super sweet. Now I can haz PERM @Ugnius@VersaTune, many times after taking logs, I have to restart VT in order to look at them under the log-tab. They don't appear there until I restart the program. Is this something that you know of? |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I guess I'd have to ask, what would the point of that feature be then? Just for e-tuning purposes I take it?
