(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score HTP 3" inlet/MAF pics and impressions Just a quick little write up on my @HTP inlet and maf that I got back in February for my BT build. Overall this is a great piece, especially considering the price. All the welds are great. Fitment is great, But you will (at least in my case) have to relocate the ECU. The price however was a big part (probably the biggest) of why I opted for HTP. At the time I purchased mine, I got it shipped to my door for ~$200 for the TIP and MAF housing. The fact that the pieces are also of VERY good quality was just a bonus. However, my main reason for this "review" is to give props to HTP as a company. The customer service that I received was top notch. Katie would always respond to my emails during the same day, or as soon as she got in the next day. She answered all of my questions fully, and was always willing to do whatever I needed to make me a happy customer. Ups to Matt for putting her in charge of this end of the business. And last but not least, thanks Matt for the awesome parts. I wish I lived closer to you guys so I could have custom work done. Here are the links to all the stuff you will need to make this intake work: -HTP 3" Inlet -HTP MAF (believe these are made to order). -45* Silicone elbow -Filter -Honeycomb Air Straightener -Hose and some clamps to connect to valve breather Finally for those who care, here are some pics.

| Not Ranked : 0 score So it looks like you secured your ECU with zip ties and a bolt in the fuse box? I wanted to mount my ECU there, but previous owner of my car said it would brick the ECU from too much vibration...do you have the case grounded anywhere?

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score No the Ecu isn't grounded. Meant to do that but it just kinda fell between the cracks with all the other stuff that's been going on with my car. Is it grounded in the stock location? I can't remember. @bmylez

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Did you find an alternative spot to mount your ecu? Reason im asking is because relocating to the fuse box wasn't the most elegant thing in the world. Wondering if you found a better spot.

Also is there anyway that you guys could incorporate an air straightener into the MAF housing?

| Not Ranked : 0 score Update: MAF housings will be available very shortly, and in multiple sizes (3", 3.25" & 3.5"). Katie and I are hammering out pricing as I type this, so we are in the final stages of releasing this. I think you will find these to be priced very nicely as with all of our products. Recently we've been very busy expanding our machinery to automate some of our manufacturing processes to keep costs down. These housings are OEM quality, featuring bead rolls along with a secured air straightener, and are built to last. I have read various threads in regards to big MAF housings being offered by other manufacturers and am finding a general disregard for small details like bead rolling ends. I'm reading that its unnecessary because its not seeing any pressure when in fact they are actually necessary for positive clamping of the filter and coupler. Over time these rubber/silicone parts degrade, get oily, dry rot and want to work themselves loose. Having been in the automotive service business for almost 13 years now, we see several cars every year get towed in due to their MAF and filter falling off. A simple little bead roll can prevent this from happening. These and many more details, like distance of the sensor to the straightener, play a major role in to how we make a product. I know we've taken our time in working on and releasing these and the other cool products we have in the works, but it's very important to us to take all the details into consideration. After all, if we're not happy with the final product, we certainly wouldn't expect you to be! :-) We're appreciative for your enthusiasm and patience! More details and pictures to follow..... :-) Thanks! Matt |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Hmm interesting. Either way I would still get an air straightener. Only 20$, and I doubt that SURE, HTP, ect use them just because.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I'm running an HTP inlet as well. Talked to Katie and had the part on my doorstep in less than a week. Outstanding service and communication. The part itself is excellent. Great finish and flawless welds. Thanks again @HTP One thing I didn't expect is the sound it makes. Noticeably louder when boosting and really brings out the flutter during blow off. I like teh soundz of teh turboz. |
