Ford threw that old mustang 2.3 turbo into this as well...

Say hello to my first car. That bitch constantly broke down. It could have been sick had it been built with better components. RWD, 5 speed, good handling, 200 hp out of the box with mod potential.

I'm glad the new 2.3's don't resemble these engines in any way. They had issues.

Quoted from Car & Driver magazine review:

The aforementioned 252 hp comes at 5500 rpm.

This goes to suggest that their turbo will be about the same size as ours (starts running out of air early in the powerband)

Perhaps one of you guys could enlighten me if I'm correct, or tell me that I'm wrong because the 2.0L in their engines would react differently than our bigger 2.3Ls when it comes to the turbo running out of air in the top band.



It also states peak Torque comes in at 2700rpm which is quite a bit earlier than our cars (especially considering their smaller displacement), so it supports the "smaller turbo" theory.

Is it possible that they'll use a similar twin scroll ko4 that is used in SS cobalts. Capable of quite a bit power on a 2.0.

Doesn't it also have port injection as well as direct injection? I believe it has 8 injectors or is that chevy's di engine?

This helps a little. So not ko4's.... A ko3 of sorts... I've searched for over 4 hours, called and emailed larger companies, talked to my buddy who has a f-150 EB and for some strange reason no one knows exactly what it is. I think @Tokay444 may also be right on the f-150 being a derivative of an efr. Borg Warner definitely makes the turbos. They have a press release stating this.

I can really only speak to what I've read about, and those are the 4 cyl ecoboosts.

@Speed6 killah or @Lex
Do you guys know if the ST has engine management like the f-150's Bosch? I've read some about it and its a very tough set up to tune well properly. One of the reasons it took so long to get tuning out for the f-150. Many companies are actually still having troubles getting good driveability with a tune. The 3.5 in the SHO is very easy to tune. Hoping the ST is like the SHO as far as tuning.

The ST suites you MS3 guys. I'm in for the newer 2013 Ford Fusion Titanium with AWD. Yes it will have stupid paddle shifters but the wifey won't complain about not being able to drive the car.

honestly but the st is turboed right? and already comes 330 hp? ford did a good job of taking mazda's design, but that would mean mazda would have to come out with something to compete against eventually no? for the mean time i'm swapping the motors if i get the chance

Their a guy in florida that work with ford that tuner that diesel trucks and start to make tune for the F150 on gas and pure E85
I'm sure cobb have a tune for it already the ST lol,,

I4 2.0: Borg Warner K03 low inertia integrated turbo system
I4 1.6: Borg Warner KP39 low inertia turbo

Can't find link, but same block...which means swaps are possible so if the aftermarket picks up the ST we could just switch...or try to do hybrid builds like a Honda engine series.

The turbos are tucked tightly between the block and the frame but I was able to get one off in about an hour and a half. Once it was off I was able to disassemble the unit. What I found inside confirms the rumors of the manufacturer.....that's right, a bunch of little candies fell out right on the shop floor.

Flat 8 turbo? I don't buy it. And the GT already has 420 so turbocharged would net higher HP.

the coyote motors already have a relief in the head for a direct injection addition in the coming years. why would ford put out the coyote motors just to can them for a swap to a flat 8 it makes no sense.
