Default Awesome price for custom exahust!!!

So i went to a local muffler shop to get a resinator put back in to my stock catback after installing my cpe dp. Its really fuckin quiet now by the way or so it seems like it is to me. Anways i asked the guy how much you think it would cost to fab up a 3" catback for me. He say it all depends what kind of muffler i want and if i want some resonators. Well if he supplied the muffler he quoted me $140!! i couldnt believe my ears so i asked him thats with all the materials and labor right he was like ya! So i got all excited and couldnt believe it. He also said it might be a little cheaper if i brought my own muffler in! I think the only down side will be that it wount be made out of stainless steel like the big companies but he said its the aluminized steel (or something like that cant remember. I think its like the stock material) But who cars cause no one is gonna really see it right! I doubt it really affect performance and sound.

So my question is were can i find some good quality and cheap mufflers from? Also how should i configure it so i get a nice loud but deep sound? Just a resinator and a 6" muffler? I kinda want the cpe or corksport sound!

Just a word of caution, don't do it if it's using the normal "crush" bends that most muffler shops have. You want mandrel bends or leave it stock. 3" with crush bends will flow worse than your stock pipes will.

if you don't want crushed bends, buy the mandrel bends from summit online and bring them to him to have chopped up and welded in...still probably do-able under $200

If I still had my welder, I would do this for the entire exhaust system

I had straight pipes from the turbo except for that little muffler at the end of the stock cat back! It was to raspy so I put a stock resonater back in! Now it's pretty quiet and want a new cat back soon!

I'm alomst sure that it won't rust in Florida! Not in a few years at least! Isn't it the same material as oem?

3" crushed piping will flow like a 1.75"-2" due to the crinkles causing air bubbles/air rampages that restrict exhaust flow.
