(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Hello! this is my first post and I am a new owner of a 2011 mazdaspeed3. I test drove the car, looked under the hood and even check the frame and everything seemed good and didn't notice any oil leaks. I then drove the car off the lot and brought it to a near freeway to get a feel for all the gears. I then turned around and headed home when I noticed the rpms starts to sputter in I believe 3rd or 4th gear. I was going about 45-50 mph at that point. The rpms continued to do this and I realized that my engine began to make a strange noise. I pulled over to ensure I didn't do more damage to the engine. I looked under the engine bay and noticed a leak coming from where I believed to be crankcase. I checked the dipstick and it was noticeably dry. I got it towed to the dealership where there are looking at it. There first thing they said is that I may need a new engine. The current one has about 95k on it now. The car is warrantied so I should have some assurance there, however, I can't afford to think about the work that may need to be down. I don't have a AP at the moment so I can't show any logs. If anyone has had this issue before or something similar can you please tell me what exactly was the issue, so that I'm not too much oop. The dealership did add a cat to the aftermarket corksport exhaust and also installed a new battery right before purchase so that may have messed with the ecu and the passed tune of the previous owner, but I'm not sure! |
