(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score My ms3 has had a strange starting issue progressively getting worse since I bought it . It will often take 5-6 seconds of cranking to fire up. Sometimes when warm it will fire on first crank. Sometimes it will just stop cranking and I have to reset the ignition and start over. The car has a cobb SR intake and CAT back straight pipe. No Hpfp, has cat. It also has a strange issue with the idle and intake. It will occasionally have a choppy idle(got slightly better with recent plugs) but will get even choppier in windy conditions, it stalled once with the hood up in windy conditions. Not sure if its related but cylinder 1 has very low compression and massive ring blowby.Any advice is appreciated. Snow is coming soon and I want this shit solved so i'm not wrenching in negative wind chill. My next course of action is to clean up grounds and go from there. So far I have tried: -battery load test- all good -cleaned up starter signal wire -egr decarbon -intake valve decarbon -new plugs gapped at .28-.30 -clean and reoil hpfp -replaced fuel rail pressure relief valve with used one known to work fine Also included a log of a recent wot pull. Perhaps it could help? Last edited by 2009ms3; 11-18-2015 at 08:26 PM. |
