(Thread Starter) |   Not Ranked : 0 score  off to an excellent start with my new block! I picked it up a few days ago; the timing chain had broken, so the block was intact. Upon closer inspection here's what we found... Should I ask for at least a partial refund? It was $400.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I just paid for the block. Nothing's been done, he removed the timing cover/chain/etc. and the head when I came to pick it up. I was under told that the block was fine, that the timing chain had broken and that the valves were bent. The seller almost certainly didn't realize that this had happened either.

| Not Ranked : 0 score oh, gotcha. i thought that maybe when you THOUGHT you had a blown block it turned out to just be the timing, that you paid $400 to get that fixed, and then you took off the timing cover after it was fixed. i was confused. that sucks. i would definitely bring it up to the seller, even it if is a good deal. if for no other reason, that they know it was messed up. i'm curious to know how that happened.
