(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Good Day Superior Techs Had this cell just pop up: P0098 intake air temp sensor high input Went through the multiple steps generated by all data to trouble shoot code except don't have meter to check for shorts, checked for frayed wirering, checked for lose connectors, cleaned MAF connectors and sensor, cell still there, only have MSCAI and MS CBE installed when new 86K ago. Car runs great!! My mechanic and local speed mechanic at the dealership said coed specifically related to the MAF sensor and should probably replace at cost of $200. Checked 4 Mazda dealers and all said never had sold a MAF sensor for a 08 Speed 3 as well as both mechanics, said usually bad connection or dirty sensor. Anyone have a better idea or a way to abnsolutely confirms it is sensor before I just replace a part. I can borrow any type of meter if I can get recommendation on what to do. Thanks so much for any assistance rendered. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Thank you for good advice, but no one around here with a Speed, it also looks like that coed is dealing with the MAP senor not the MAF sensor as the speed mechanic suggested. Borrowd a meter and will try and get up to it on the bottom left side of intake manifold. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Hey Turbonauts! have the dreaded check engine light on our 2009 Speed3. At 92,000 miles. Code reads: P0096 IAT sensor 2 CKT range/performance Intake air temp sensor. Showed up when it was recently -30 in the morning. The engine runs great at all RPM's. The wiring around the MAF sensor looks intact, non-corroded and tight. It has eaten a lot of blowing snow in the last 6 weeks. Does anyone know where this sensor is Located? By the way...at below zero temps the little buzz bomb feels like it has gained 20+ horsepower. So...it isn't all bad. |
