Default Is it possible to remove engine without removing transmission?

Pretty self explanatory question. I'm doing an engine swap, but keeping the same transmission. Hate to sound lazy, but if I could avoid removing axles to take the tranny out, I could save quite a bit of time. Has anyone successfully performed an engine swap without removing the transmission?

I thnk you're under estimating the time involved seperating the tranny from the engine in the bay. It's not going to save you any time during your swap.

zero room to accomplish this because the engine is in the car the wrong way.

axles are easy to remove but maybe not the ball joint...and you may need new link in the process...

I feel like it would be more advantages to just yank everything at as a unit. That way you can also clean the engine, tranny, and engine bay before putting it back in.

Why are you pulling the engine in general?

Tried it and failed. Then had to try to get axles out with everything just kinda hanging. Had to remount the engine to break the axle nuts loose. Added 2 hours to the job.

Just pull engine and trany together.
