(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I'm in the position where fixing this car is throwing money in the trash... Well its not running so great so after a lot of diagnosis and reading and trying different things, I figured it can only be the injectors and intake ports... But I bought some injectors from a fellow facebook member and sent them to boost labs to have them cleaned and flow tested. I'm just curious the part numbers for the intake gaskets and stuff since I know I have to remove the intake to get to the injectors. Of course I'm going to clean the intake runners too. Thanks -Spence |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Intake runners aren't getting much dirty, it is more on the head side and intake valves but you need to search about intake valve cleaning with nut blasting... For the gasket number, i will let you search google, we don't memorize it...There is some mazda online part store with all oem part numbers and drawings...

For a start, what is your complete modifications list? Please be specific. For example, if you have an aftermarket intake, we need to know the internal diameter of the MAF housing, and whether or not the MAF housing has an air-straightener in it. Are you running a tune? If so, what is it? Then, give us a little information about the problem. What is the problem? When did it start? Had you done anything to the car recently when it began showing symptoms?

| Not Ranked : 0 score Spence, we don't know your technical background, so I will go on to say this... If you don't know what you're doing, you stand a chance to do more harm than good. I have not heard of these engines running like garbage due to intake port dirtiness. My engine with 157k miles had gunked up intake ports/valves and it ran fine. When trying to diagnose an issue, that's not something I would mess with. Swap in the clean injectors and put it back together.

-Corksport resonator -damond rmm No tune, no hpfp. 15k miles ago car ran mint it was a monster. There was a recent issue that was a bad connection to the tank fuel pump and some questionable wiring and a cracked tank pump inlet made the car misfire at any throttle input. Car runs better now but won't run to redline, it misfires at about 4000k rpm. Car bogs really easily too, I think its a fuel issue cause the the clogged injectors. Changed plugs and then the gaps multiple times, coils are new cause I gave up and let a shop fix it, and they did some parts throwing... Last edited by Spence; 07-15-2019 at 07:28 PM.

Moreover, if you've got a freer-flowing exhaust, you absolutely need to have upgraded HPFP internals. Without them, you are driving a ticking time bomb. Basically, from the small amount of info at our disposal at this point, I would say you need the following: - Tuning/datalogging solution (AP/Versatuner/etc.) - A tune that takes account of the flow modifications to your engine - upgraded HPFP internals (ASAP!)

The car ran perfect 15k miles ago. Exhaust is still stock catted down pipe, and from there on back no cats and aftermarket exhaust. Plugged injectors can cause a lean condition too..

| If it ran perfect, then what changed!?!? When did it change, and how? Do you have a way of datalogging? If so, take a datalog in a single gear (preferably 3rd or 4th) from 3000rpm to 6000rpm at full throttle, if you can.

My only possible data logging is through the Dashcommand app on my phone and a wifi OBDII dongle. Thanks

| Not Ranked : 0 score you said you gapped the plugs but at which size ? anything above 0.030''gave me a lot similar problems in the past. Which plugs? And what is recommended is below that. have you tried to clean and stretch the coil internal springs ? Yes after spark it is to look at fuel and i could imagine some very dirty valves could enhance missfire problems but you should make sure to clear anything related to spark first...before moving to fuel or timing...... probability to have more than one 1 bad injectors are limited so it would make a located cylinder misfiring with a lighter color plug and probably some knock with it.... Something bad about a sensor reading could also drive the ecm crazy too lean or too rich creating a random missfire too...this is why we ask for logs...
