Just a simple adding of waterwetter.


Just for those wanting to know where the drain plug is.
Driver side bottom back of radiator here:


You can drain slowly as you are adding the Water Wetter to the fill/resivor, just retighten the drain plug after putting how ever many bottles in and letting the it go back down to the FULL LEVEL. Then put your cap back on and run it for 10 minutes and check level and for leaks. Enjoy!

I've been thinking of doing this exact same thing to help lower the coolant temps ... you put in all 5 bottles!

i was curious if this stuff would cause sludging with fl22 coolant, I hope for your sake it doesnt, but I wasnt sure myself
generally red and green dont mix well, but the water wetter is not quite the same as red coolant, so keep us updated how it goes

I was gonna flush the system and put in 10.53 bottles and water, but changed my mind cause I drive up north in the winter. Don't wanna freeze up lol.

wow i could of swore it was like 1 or 2 oz per gallan of fluid in the radiator. i know they said that adding more will not do more good. and that if there is no water the water wetter cant work. eg. you cant use premixed you actually have to put water into a 50/50 to make it work. so i am unsure if the stock is premixed but there may be no water for it to bond too.

USE DIRECTIONS
One 12 ounce bottle treats 12-16 quarts of water or a
50% ethylene or propylene glycol solution. In smaller
cooling systems, use 4-5 caps per quart. Add directly
through the cooling system fill cap into the radiator or
into the overflow tank. Do not open a cooling system
while hot. For best protection for aluminum, replenish
or replace every 15,000 miles. The anti-scaling ingredients
in Red Line WaterWetter® allow its use with
ordinary tap water. However, using with distilled or
deionized water will accomplish some scale removal
in the cylinder head area. Plain water with or without
WaterWetter® should not be used in cooling systems
containing magnesium - antifreeze should be used -
with WaterWetter®. For maximum temperature
reductions use the most water and the least
antifreeze possible to prevent freezing in your climate.
Even in summertime the use of air-conditioning
can blow freezing air through the heater and cause
freezing of the heater core unless approximately 20%
antifreeze is used. Red Line WaterWetter® is available
in 12 ounce containers.

ok i read it and yeah that was a bit much... it says 4-5 caps per quart. wow. so as a not one bottle will treat 12-16 quarts.

Isn't all pre-mix from the factory 50/50? They won't sell it to you, is what I've heard.
FL22 is a mystery eh?
FL22 can be mixed with green coolant but NOT orange coolant. Stated by Mazda

I'm at:
55% of 50/50 FL22 (if it has water)
45% of Water Wetter

Eventually the FL22 will be thinned out by Water Wetter and water as I add more later on.

This part makes no sense to me?

Water wetter states:

Why do people buy these water wetters, dont we run thermostats, your not
going to run any colder, your gonna run what your thermostat setting is.
I used to use this on older cars without a thermostat and it would cool about 7-10
deg colder than if you did not use it. But not on a car with a thermostat.

All WW does is decrease the surface tension of water, allowing it to carry away more heat. All you have to do is add a few drops of Dawn dish detergent to your coolant to get the same effect for less than what you pay for Water Wetter (and no, it will not bubble up in your coolant). 2-3 drops is all you need, but as stated above, your thermostat is going to maintain a certain temp. Usually 170-180 degrees F because that's the temp the car was designed to run at. The only time Water Wetter is going to help you is if your thermostat is running wide open and your cooling system is incapable of maintaining that 170-180 degrees F. Other than that, it think it's a waste of money.

Shouldn't it take longer to heat up then? Yes.
So living in a hot climate area it will help, keeping the temps down to the thermostat levels eh? Yes.
Like heavy bumper to bumper traffic, deserts, Florida. Helps maintain over heat issues and normal operating temperture consistency.
This is why I use it.

So why not just drain 1/2 the coolant and replace with distilled water plus a little WW. This would effectively be a 75/25 mix, which protects down to about 10 degF. I don't have to worry about anything near that cold here.

Where I go it'll be colder lol. Plus I wanna do like the Subaru guy did and drive in the snow. I know I don't have AWD but I could put these Mattracks on the front lmao!
