Blue Smoke

I dont think its a big deal but im curious .. anyone had the following issues?

#1 Car was sitting an hour or so, started it ....... drove a few feet .. came to a stop sign....a good sized plume of blue smoke came out from under the car .. then went away.. nothing out of the tail pipes or anything after that... this was about a month ago .. never happened before.

#2 Went last night after work for a few beers .. car sat about 90 minutes...after that I started, pulled up to the ticket paying lady in the garage.... a plume of blue smoke came out from under the car again .. went away .. I drove off and nothing after that ... freakin strange.. I cant imagine what it is or why is does it.. any ideas ?

Guess no one knows .. but yesterday was #3 ... went to walgreens ... only about 1 miles from the crib .. idled in to the lot swung around to park and boom .. plume of blue smoke comes from under the car and floats off ... strange ..

Everytime I see the smoke it blows from the back to the front ... But I cant really say if its directly under or from exhaust .. I never notice it until it blows by me .. which I why I think it is coming from under the car ... and I always look out the back when im driving but there is nothing there .. really strange

hows your oil level? change the oil recently? (maybe spilled a bit somewhere that gets hot). I know a buddy of mine with a test pipe gets a nice puff every once in a while when pushing it hard

When I had a smoking turbo I never notice when driving, only when idling for a long period of time or on initial startup, and not until it was blown back into my field of view. But it was coming from my exhaust.

I think it's time for you to run the bad turbo oil seal test. Start you car and leave it parked, let it idle for up to 5 minutes, and you will find out if it's coming from your exhaust tips. Mine started going James Bond smoke screen style under those conditions. At the very least it will help with the process of elimination.

To the OP .. my oil level is fine and im on 2k since last change .. So that cant be it... But ill do the 5 minute idle and see if I get the smoke .... and it is like the OP described,, just every once in a while it would show up when it was blown into your line of sight .. will report back findings.

im having a similar problem (check thread "yet ANOTHER problem") and i got a leak-down test done to my car to find out that pistons 2 has a 16% leak and 3 has a 13% leak so my piston rings are bad. its not too expensive to do the test, i was charged $68 and it took like 30-45 mins. maybe you wanna look into that

Switch to 5w40 and you will be fine. Thats what I did and mine was smoking horribly.
