Default cp-e catted downpipe

well i installed the catted downpipe today and while it wasn't extremely hard it wasn't a breeze. the stock downpipe sucks to get out, i did this on my own today, probably would have been easier with 2 people but it took me 6 hours by myself with some breaks.

one problem i encountered was that i broke one of the studs connected the waste gate to the downpipe. its the top one near the firewall, i don't know how to get it out other than to take the downpipe off all the other studs then grab whats left. i wasn't in the mood to do that so currently its only attached by 4, probably just fine but i'll get it fixed evenually.

well after all was said and done i can definately feel some difference, might take the car a little time to learn before max gains are felt.

let me know if you think i'll have any problems with that one stud being broke off.

with a cat. car is running good except i get "afterfire" more commonly called "backfire" i dont know if its because of my crushed dsm valve, i'm trying to get an uncrushed one to test my theory.

i just hope i don't have a leak where the stud broke. will hopefully be fixing that this weekend.

Backfire is more pronounced with a DP or TBE...

it will probably leak, but there will be no ill effects other than noise running with a stud missing.

you could try some EZouts if you can get in there, but unfortunately you are probably stuck pulling it off the car. ACK!

i agree with defylogik... it's not going to kill anything by not having that stud there, but it sucks that you eventually have to take that out and fix it. downpipe on a speed 6 is not a lot of fun...
