On a sidenote, have you looked into a supercharger kit? you'll get a shit load more power plus its providing more air into your engine which several people have suggested you do anyway. Supercharger kits are available MAD CHEAP on ebay and just like everything else for our car thats on ebay, its very reliable. I even read somewhere that the Hypertech has a code you can enter that unlocks maps for superchargers. left, left, right, right, up, down, enter.

As stated I aready have hypertech tune.

I don't want it to be loud. I want to keep my stock cat back exhaust system. I want to be a sleeper car so I don't really want the noise from the intake. I realize there will be louder sound without the two cats as well.

there are plenty of intakes for under $200. from a pure physics point of view, output cannot be greater than input so replacing the downpipe will have almost no effect.

If you're worried about sound, performance cars are not for you.

If you free up restrictions on the exhaust side, it should suck a little quicker on the intake side.

And yes, HT will work well with your damn downpipe, ONCE you get to that point, AFTER the intake. Get it?

I don't get how everyone keeps saying I am making things up. I am a mechanic the work I do is good and no ones stuff doesn't work after I fix I always test drive and make sure it runs right. I have an 07 msp with a hypertech module so essentially no modifications. I do not own a gen2 or a pt cruiser.

My thinking is that if I just want to put one single part on my car that is already tuned I would get more power with a dp than an intake or any other mod. Reducing exhaust gas temps in the manifold could only help the motor run safer. I really don't deserve to be flamed for that it is on topic for this subforum.
