Default Autoexe Ram Air Intake System

Anyone running the Autoexe ram air intake system? I'm having trouble finding more details on it, is it a drop in filter? IE: Can I use this with a Cobb SRI, or is it a whole standalone intake?

Holy fuck. I was kind of interested in the idea, but a GRAND for an intake is insane.

That's cool so, it takes away 1/2 the ram air for the intercooler, which actually helps, to TRY to make ram air for the intake, which doesn't. Fricking hilarious.

3 words on this car: Boost Air Temperature....

The picture makes it clear it's a cone filter but, I highly doubt it'll work with any other type of intake...especially since it won't work at all, anyway.

Several things are wrong with it as a ram air package, too. The plenum volume is WAY too small, the MAF is way too close to the disturbed ram air column.

Nothing personal man, but, this is a total waste of money.

I would only run this with a FMIC... But yeah, at $1000 it's waaay too expensive. Autoexe usually has good shit though, I'm sure the MAF thing isn't an issue. (It might be the camera angle)

Oh, I'm pretty sure the MAF issue will happen, since the most critical tuning info is airflow on this car. What values would you use for the MAF correction on this intake, and, atop that, if the ram air works (which it won't) what'd be the values of the compensation for it? And since ram air, even when functional, isn't really effective 'til over ~100 mph, where's the gain? It's a lousy short CAI that chokes the IC, lol.

Ideally, you want a long, straight, laminar flow when the intake air hits the MAF. Try this: take shop air and hit your Cobb filter with a good shot of it, engine running, watch the engine note and idle change. Turbulent, unevenly compressed air would play havoc with MAF values and thus, engine performance on this platform.

Just my opinion, of course....

Honestly the thing looks really bad ass. Call mark at see if he has any laying around, im sure he'll want to get rid of it. Of course though, what could he mark it down to.. $600? Hah, thats still insane for an intake.

LOL Tempting, but yeah, $600 for something that may not work is already insane. I've spent waaaaay to much $$$ with mark lately. I have no idea how I got some of my last few purchases past the wife... NO IDEA!

Yeah all that high end CP-e stuff in your sig must have been a pretty penny....

Get a separate mailbox (in the US if you're near enough) and have stuff shipped there. Then you can pick it up while she's at work, take it to a single friend's house and install it there, hehe!

I'd say it's gonna be an intake and, that always helps on this car but, the ram air part is crap...and the price.

your really paying for the carbon fiber piece. it is pretty beautiful though. Functional and pretty? More like for a car that loves power but shows off at car shows.

For that added rarity.
