Default Benefit of stock hood air duct with FMIC?

I was thinking of removing all the plastic air duct under the hood and above the grill. How many of you kept it on with a FMIC and is there any benefit?

Any air helping to cool your engine is a benefit. Not to mention it helps get cooler air to the intake as well.

Good deed for the day:

If you take it off, there is a port in the radiator support that can be opened (used for the regular 3 air ducting) that will allow air to flow to a SRI.

Other than that, if you take it off, air flows around more redily then just on top of the motor, IMO.

Removed the ducting and the "directors" behind the grill to help give some more air to the radiator (Corksport sells some "directors" that help channel more to the radiator since the intercooler takes up most the air flow) and only kept the snorkel tube for the battery box.

But the battery box tube isn't connected to anything now right?

I think it has it's own "Christmas tree plugs" attached to it. Mines attached to the hood still, has some wiggle since it's not connected to the rest of the ducting but it's still attached.

I think the best way is to drop the air flow behind/under the intercooler (Front/top).
Less air pressure behind the FMIC = more air flow thru it

remove air duct...
