Guys, its amazing what this did to the stock MAF. All our 3" MAFS will have this coming with it, no questions asked.

Example on Cobb SRI:

I feel that it would make a difference on any Mazda car that doesn't have the screen. Now that I have tried it first hand and seen the difference on my car, every Mazdaspeed that we work on from now on will get this done to it. It made that much of a difference.

Smoother air flow across the MAF sensor. More or less it can read the actual air running into the motor.

Where can I order it? I need it for my stock MAF housing (cut for my custom SRI).

It reminds me of the MAF in the Evo...and that worked pretty damn good.

We also put one on a MazdaSpeed CAI today. Before it was installed AFRs were fluctuating all over the place under boost. It would jump back and forth from 9s to 15s. With the screen installed, the AFRs dropped like they should and held steady. No fluctuation. Eazy has the Dashhawk logs showing this.

How/ where did you install it on the MS CAI? Do you also have the AEM straightener and did you incorporate in with this?

If you're thinking about window screen mesh might wanna re-consider as the holes are pretty close. I tried blowing through some I have around with my hand behind it and it definitely slows down the air flow. If you go ahead for a test be sure it's on tight ... don't want that stuff sucked into your turbo.

Does the pattern of the screen really matter when it comes to airflow, or just spacing between the holes? What I am asking is, does it matter if the pattern is diamond or squared?

probably spacing between holes is whats important....diamond or squared its still going to smooth out the air flow

^^^Did you reset your ecu? How many miles did you allow for relearning the new parameters?

These were just quick back to back runs with and without the mesh in to show that it does make a difference. These logs are not my car, it was another member at the dyno day we just had here. His afrs were bouncing back and forth between 9.1-14.7 on the dyno.... dangerously inconsistent. After dyno, he did some pulls for the first log, still getting crazy afrs. Then came back, installed the mesh, and took off for the 2nd log, which the afrs were much more stable and consistent.

No AEM straightener. Installed over the pipe just before the MAF. A lot of overlap (so it went up the pipe a bit) so the coupler and clamp could hold it in place. Very quick to install on either the COBB SRi and MSCAI.

Do you think it would be a good idea to disconnect the neg terminal and reset it even though the logs were taken without resetting it?

Hay Eazy, perhaps you could post a log showing the MAF voltage with/without the screen instead? That would be an instant change, no matter when you reset the ecu, then you could post the af ratios later after it's had a chance to relearn. The MAF voltage transition logs I used to have were drastic and immediate... Like a sign wave vs a light switch... so so soooooo much smoother.
