(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Okay okay okay... so here's been my schedule for the last few days. My buddy Kevin and I have been teamworking the car. He's learned alot, good for him. Unfortunately, he's learning at my expense. He worked the top of the car, while I was under it getting dirty.Sunday afternoon - rip apart car in anticipation of the new turbo on tuesday. I got the Intercooler, ECU, battery box, manifold, turbo, and downpipe all out, and impatiently awaited the new turbo. ![]() Tuesday afternoon (315pm). i picked up the BEAST from the mailing center and went to my apartment to unpackage it. Its huge (loook at the pic). So, about 10minutes later, i'm in the parking lot. We dropped the turbo down, put the manifold back on, mounted the turbo up, and ran all the oil and coolant lines. The oil feed line has to be bent to get in the proper position for the new turbo. Coolant lines are ran, I gashed another finger, the usual. My hands have been black for the past few days, grossss. Anywho. We get everything mounted up, including my new wideband and the new 3" TXS downpipe, which fits perfectly with the stock catback and the TXS midpipe, I'm very pleased about that. Easier than expected! 9pm tuesday - Everything is back together, I get the IC back on, my custom turbo inlet, which now has a bigger extension to make a cold air intake (I had to, there wasn't enough room for a short ram). I crank the car over, it sounds mean! I love the new exhaust, but I have an exhaust leak, as well as a coolant leak, and minor oil drippage. Lame x2 Wednesday morning: When I bent the oil feed line, i think where it feeds out of the block became loose or cracked- I get a slow leak from it., therefore I have to remove the alternator. and get behind there to fix it (sucks). I have another stock oil feed line, so that should be an easy fix. The coolant leak was a simple hoseclamp I didn't tighten. No biggy - got that fixed up. The exhaust leak on the other hand... dun dun dun..... I got checked the manifold to head nuts, all top and bottom are plenty tight. I went to check the turbo to manifold nuts and studs.... ERG. They were all loose, but wait, no they werent. they're cross threaded. thanks Kevin. So, I was able to replace 2 of the studs with others that I have, and new nuts as well. The other 2 on there aren't looking so good. I've got 1 nut on that is just spinning in the same spot. It wont loosen, it wont tighten.... I'll have to drill out the sides or dremel it off. The 4th stud, while loosening, was so jammed up that it actually BROKE the stud in the turbo. Thankfully, all I ahve to do is drop the turbo and unthread it, and pop a new one in there. Everything is going to be fine.... I just need time, which I don't have.here is the turbo next to the stocker on the kitchen island. I'll keep this thread updated with dynos and its open for cussing and discussing the situation. I'll be busy for the next few days.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score muhahahahahaha. I'm the first to have mine on and driving. ![]() I got under the car and fixed that coolant leak early this morning. I then got frustrated and post poned everything to this afternoon. I called a buddy, who knows nothing of cars, and he came to help. He did exactly what I wanted, and nothing I didnt. He was scared to, especially after my story of Kevin. Anywho, Oil leak was the feed line as suspected. The bolt that holds it into the block was loose from me moving it around. I was able to get to it without removing the alternator. 1 stud was fixed, the other wasn't. I am currently rockin' 3 studs, instead of the 4, but I have no audible exhaust leak. More updates later, I gotta drive!

| Not Ranked : 0 score the turbo showed up yesterday.... but was scheduled to be delivered today. That screwed up Marks schedule a little..... hes short staffed at the shop and is doing the work himself. And then I got bumped by dcr for some emergency bullshit up in Virginia. So in a nutshell. I dont have any clue. But Ive been promised the car by the end of the week. It makes it worse..... That I just talked to Jon!!!!!... He is so stoked.. Hes running 13psi and the car is out of control he claims. He thinks he picked up at least 30-40 hp with the dp and turbo. He said he laid rubber all the way through 3rd, and.... TOTAL POWER ALL THROUGH REDLINE!!!!! and this at just 13 psi. WOT the car is running 10.5-11.0 a/f...lol Im so fucking stoked....lol He said absolutely no regrets... when boost hits the passengers are totally "oh shit".. I'll let him tell the rest... hes got a "hot date" tonight as well... so hell be back in later... |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Oh I'll post results...lol Who else around here already has damn 30 dynos posted? Just wait till I get my turbo installed...you'll see some data all right. BTW Jon said absolutely no hesitation or fuel cut... I guess that was assumed... but can you imagine if we get this thing going... with good fuel trims. Hes confident that the a/f will stay good... me too. I think the car will cut before it goes too lean. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I just read an email that ATP sent to Jon regarding last minute tips for the install and potential this or that... The highlights.... all on the stock pump remember were... 1. make sure everything is tight..lol 2. bcd 3. atp 3 in maf extension..... and they went on too elaborate that they felt the 3in maf was "critical". Thats right they said it was "critical" to their tuning of the turbo. What the hell does everyone make of that shit? |

Im going with the cobb I think. The less air, with the straightener will hopefully make the car want to run rich... hell Im even tempted to put the damn stock box in while I learn this baby. What would be wrong with that even?

| Not Ranked : 0 score I was kidding and yeah I think he cut it. Look... I dont doubt the thing will run lean... but lets not forget that kens car had fuel to pull at 18 psi.... on the stock pump. I just wouldnt bet aginst it being fine. I think this ecu is smarter than we are right now. Who knows what causes what. As long as hes cautious raising it.. I think he'll be fine. I'll probably run mine at 15 for just around town. BTW... I had a nice talk with John today at ptp. Ive all but decided that Im gonna talk to dcr as soon as this thing is on about a secondary fueling system. Apparently there IS a car in Florida making 450-460. Hes doing it with water/meth on a seperate rail and injectors... they only kick in when the car boosts. I dont care if I put another fuel tank, or rail on the car. Im gonna make safe power. |

Standback is for boost and potentially a secondary fuel system which is available on v2.

either way its 18psi on a 2.3 disi, with a gt3071. I dont believe that Ken would make up a number on the psi...even if the dyno number was jacked. That number seems right in line with what atp is claiming. Plus Jon was fucking raving about his car... he comes from 350whp vws. I d hope he knows what that feels like.

| Not Ranked : 0 score a trained monkey can get a trap speed lol. Et on the other hand is a lil harder. As far as jon cars, how is he boosting 12-13 psi with a 14lb wastegate spring? |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I think 13psi on a 14psi spring is right on par. I see this all the time. Settle down there Chris. LOL
