whatever you can afford that gets the job done if the stocker is indeed leaking.

Oddly enough I agree. After having used 4 BPVs I'm staying with the synapse. I came into it with low expectations because of people complaining, but it's a great BPV if set up correctly.

Nothing wrong with the stock BPV. Cobb Access Port instructions recommend its use and their maps are designed to use with it. I can't make mine leak at 28,000 miles running 13.4 quarters at 107, doing 40-120 is 12.5 seconds with my mods. It just does its job. In a recent study in a reputable magazine, it actually held boost better and at a higher level than its major competitor once the ECU nanny let the engine build full power in third gear. As you know, if you have any mods at all, we overpower the tires in first and second gear now and really can't use any more power there without drag radials, etc.

If you want an aftermarket valve, most of them work fine. Just be sure to run it in full recirc mode. Period. Any amount of vent to atmosphere in a MAF engine is takiing air already metered by the MAF and already matched with fuel and farting it to atmosphere, shooting excess fuel that was intended to have that oxygen into the engine and causing you to lose power, IMHO.

my experience is the car runs noticeably better fully recirculated.

i ran my turbosmart 50/50 for a summer and loved the sound but found the occasional backfire embarrassing. but other than that the car seemed to run fine. once i switched back to fully recirc i immediately noticed better acceleration and throttle feel was less jerky especially with cruise control.

what ever you do. do your car a favor and stay recirculated.
