That's a good day's work, glad you were able to track some stuff down. The GA will work with any push-type valve so the Forge should be good. Personally I like the Synapse Diverter Valve; holds pressure well and is very fast.

Sent while Stratified.

Thanks for the suggestion @Mike@Stratified! The Synapse looks really nice. I however couldn't justify to myself spending that much on a BPV.

I just pulled the trigger on a Corksport BPV. It looks like a good design (perhaps just good marketing material), was just a few bucks more than the Forge/TurboSmart stuff, and it supports a manufacturer that supports the MS platform.

I have the CS and it's been flawless at 25.x PSI, even ignoring the prescribed lubrication schedule. It's fast and effective, great price - only gripe is the small studs on the top will rust, so I ordered some stainless replacements.

Glad to see you've isolated some issues. Hopefully it's smooth sailing from here.

CS BPV installed. Attached is a 30%WGDC Map & Log.
Boost is still well below where the stock BPV was leaking.
I actually seem to be getting less boost/WGDC than before.

My HTP 3.0" Intake arrived a few weeks ago. Unfortunately I was sick for three weeks, so it just taunted me while I was coughing up my lungs.

I finally installed the intake today and it definitely made a HUGE difference. Even though the MAF size isn't much different compared to the Corksport that it replaced (~67mm vs ~73mm), the big difference is the pipe size since the CS pipe narrows down to ~2" (feeding a 2.5" turbo inlet).

I'll have more data in the next couple days, but the first WOT log already looks much better.

Before I was seeing ~270g/s @ 20PSI, now I'm seeing almost 300g/s @ 16PSI.
Comparing the last log I posted after the CS BPV install, I'm seeing ~2PSI more At 50% WGDC.

Are you sure the CS intake doesn't have something in it or the filter is super clogged? I'm GLAD your issues seem to have been fixed by the change, but that also doesn't exactly make a ton of sense. The change shouldn't be THAT drastic.

Again, I'm glad your problems are appearing to have been resolved.

Yup, I'm positive. I actually still have the filter from the CS intake (Same size/type) attached to the HTP pipe, so it was more than just a super dirty filter. I may do a comparison between that and the brand new clean filter, but I doubt it will be much different. There's definitely nothing stuck in the old CS pipe that would have been blocking flow, other than the 2" pipe size restricting input to the 2.5" BNR inlet.

i wouldn't have thought it to be a drastic change either, but it was enough that the car wouldn't even hold an idle (immediate stall) before adjusting the MAF sensor cal.

The flow area is almost 19% larger of course it would make a difference.

(pi)r^2 confirms ~19% increase in MAF area. Math FTW!
Of course that isn't very intuitive when the opening looks damn near identical using a cheap-ass tape measure.

Even with that I would have expected the car to idle since that is within ST trim range, and my trims were pretty tight before. Then again, the O2 sensors don't send data for a couple seconds, so the ST trims probably didn't even come into play before the car stalled.

Problem Solved...for the most part.

With the old CS intake and stock TMIC I wasn't hitting 22psi even when the boost source line popped off the EBCS (i.e. equivalent to 100% WGDC)

After upgrading to the HTP 3" intake and cp-e TMIC I've now seen 22+PSI at less than 60% WGDC! Boost isn't falling off past 5500rpm anymore!
Spool is faster, although still not the 20+psi by 3200 figure that I've seen claimed. I'm thinking it could probably be improved by upgrading my CBE.

Big THANKS!!! to everyone who offered advice throughout this thread.
Now I can finally get back to tuning, well... at least after I fix the wheel-bearing that just started making all kinds of loud nasty-sounding noises.

It is possible you are restricted by the catback/exhaust at this point.

The other day I was comparing notes with a fellow MS3 owner, we are both on a BNR v1, 3" intake, catless DP, aftermarket catback. I am not sure how fast he spools, but I have crazy boost creep, especially in colder weather, he does not. The main difference in our setups is that I have an aftermarket EM. In any case, opening up the exhaust would definitely help with the spool.

I would post my dyno charts with the evolution of the car from stock to S3 V2 w/ full open DP but people are probably sick of seeing it - but removing the remaining cat and opening up to 3" spooled 200RPM earlier and made an additional ~24whp throughout, minus a moment where boost error comp intervenes to protect the rods.

My intake is only 2.875" ID.

Update on my progress:

This is my E30 tune, which is close to finalized, I just need a little more WGDC tweaking.
