(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Just ordered the Stage2 BNR from bryan it will have to the stock actuator on it so i can still use the stock boost solenoid so 1st and 2nd gear will still have less boost. so i will not be burning my tyres to smoke that much in 1st and 2nd ![]() i will make a complete "How to" on the install of the turbo! will still take a month for ill have the turbo in my hands cause the freaking customs waits so freaking long! ill keep you guys updated

| Not Ranked : 0 score What was the issue with not getting a new boost controller? You could get the grimspeed that is plug and play or even a perrin. You are going to need a tune anyways so might was well get rid of the crappy stocker and get better turbo response. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score why didn't you get the upgraded actuator? what's the point of upgrading a turbo if you don't want it to hold boost up top? the stock actuator has difficulty holding consistent boost above 15psi @ 5.5k and above... there are many people running upgraded actuators with the stock solenoid... myself included. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score for one it could hit the firewall because of the large compressor housing... and second the stock one hooks up to the ECU and keeps the boost down in 1st and 2nd gear... if you go whit an upgraded actuator you have to delete the solinoid and i just dont want to do that rather have the ECU help me to save my car and. i dont have any upgrade internals on my engine so whit this turbo i can run lower boost and get more HP iam only looking for around 350HP at the crank and just a really smooth tune. not going for a top HP tune just a really good smooth ride that will keep my car zoomzoomPSHHHHHHH. maybe this is more like a stage 1.5 and not a stage2 ![]() but the larger compresor house and the larger compressor intake will mean less heat from compresion at lower boost levels and more flow... and ofcourse NO SMOKE. Oil burn will also offset your O2 sensors in the exhaust so keeping oil out of your O2 sensor is also a nice thing when tuning the car no KR and strange AFR. the 3 MPS ECU does work different than the US Speed3.but we will see what the car will do on the dyno iam getting a befor dyno and afterdyno ![]() so... lets hope i can be the fastest 3 MPS in the netherlands and maybe even faster than the German 3 MPS

| Not Ranked : 0 score i just told you that i was running an upgraded actuator with the stock boost solenoid. there are plenty of others that are as well. you DO NOT have to delete the solenoid. but you will have to tune your car. if you're going through the trouble of upgrading the turbo, you should get the upgraded actuator for reasons i stated above. if you're concerned about using the stock solenoid, then just pay the $100 or whatever it is for the perrin. also, if you're tuning with the AP( not sure if it's supported over there) you can control boost in 1-2 with your tune. also i think the 1-2 boost cut is more for traction than saving your car from blowing up... |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I think what bryan was saying was its easier to just disconnect the EBCS and run off the WG pressure b/c the actuator has a 17lbs spring in it. Kinda like the "BT" guys running just spring pressure off there EWG Also I have to install mine (BNR 2) very soon, since my K04 has started smoking like a banshee. Definantly a seals prob

This is news to us. I know we've had a bunch of good feedback from our bcs and tuning. I know a couple guys that didnt have it hooked correct had some issues but once it was hooked up correctly the issues were solved. Justin | |

he said runing 1.3bar boost wouldent be a problem but iam going to see what the car makes on the Dyno and than ill see what i want. cant say for sure now what the car would do. iam not looking to make a tikking timebomb i want steady HP and no top HP and that is what the stage2 can do for me. just wait and see @Ms3speed: ill will be posting a complete Manual on how to install and what parts you would need and tools and stuff. cause you do need some new hoses to connect everthing up and you would need to move the stock boost solenoid but just wait for me to get it done and it will be just like putting a IKEA thing togheter

| Not Ranked : 0 score Yes you can make 300 whp on stock turbo...I just said that in my previous post. But you not gonna make much more power with the stage2 bnr below 20 psi!!!!. Look I made 291 whp on a mustang dyno @ 17 psi. Since then I installed a DNP turbo mani, fmic and turboxs catback. The car felt more responsive and pulled harder once I put the turbo mani on!..butt dyno felt nice....combine that with the fmic which makes my car run alittle cooler and my boost is now 19 instead of 17..I bet when my car gets retuned @surgeline I think ill be around 315-320 whp on that same dyno, and prabaly 330-340 whp on a dynojet. Thats pretty much it for me,fully bolted-stock turbo-properly tuned. @ the same psi I seriously doubt your gonna make more power with the bnr stage 2....like I isaid before..its a better built turbo, but is that worth 1200 bucks? I dont know..for peace of mind..maybe for some people.....each thier own..and I can REPESCT that. But not for power purposes...not untill you push that stage2 past 20 psi will you see alittle more power. Look forward to your dyno..and also what kind of dyno-...I will do the same in the next few weeks

One question though, are the people with this issue running an upgraded exhaust manifold? If not their pre-turbine pressure would likely be a good big higher than mine resulting in more pressure against the WGA for a similar massflow making them less capable of holding higher boost pressure. I can get ~18PSI at redline and more earlier, but this is pretty much all the stock turbo has to offer above 5000 RPMs (WGDC at 100%): I can easily run more boost below that by just targeting higher loads, and I am currently doing that. Moving closer to 22 PSI than to 21 PSI that was my target on that run.

| Not Ranked : 0 score look at your log - you're maxing out your wastegate and you can't hold 19psi to redline. exactly like i said. if you want to hold 19psi+ to redline, you need to upgrade your wga. the stock turbo can do it if you upgrade your wastegate... that's why i keep encouraging jasper to run the upgraded wastegate, he's going to have the exact same problem as you on his expensive new turbo that's supposed to give him gains.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Do you have logs of people holding more than 19PSI on the stock turbo with the upgraded WGA? Do they actually make more power? I am already spinning the stock turbo well off the right side of the compressor map. Spinning the compressor at a higher RPM might yield higher pressure (PSI) but it is unlikely to be the result of more mass flow, it will be probably be due to higher discharge temp (not good).

and the wright up is just for people who think that it is a complex job and than again you do need some other parts so also handy if you dont need to look up all those parts

| Not Ranked : 0 score considering you're basically maxing your wastegate starting at about 5k, you have 1.5k of consistent boost you're missing. yes, you make more power. someone did dynos, i don't remember who. but there was no gain in power going from 20 to 22psi up top. going from 18 to 20, yes. search for it. since you're running meth, i feel like you have a bit more power to squeeze out of the stock turbo... jasper, well you'll see. i doubt you'll net much more power not turning up your boost and just relying on the compressor housing. i've already told you on numerous occassions so, you'll just have to see for yourself. |
