Default COBB Turbo Inlet Hose for the MazdaSpeed 3
COBB Tuning announces the immediate availability of the COBB Turbo Inlet Hose for the MazdaSpeed 3. This
sleek, high temperature silicone hose replaces the clunky plastic OEM piece. The interior features a uniform lining
and incorporates a true taper design, eliminating any sudden neck-down in diameter found on lesser designs.
The end result is a smooth, unrestricted path from the intake to the turbo inlet, adding power and improving
engine responsiveness.

The custom silicone construction of the COBB Turbo Inlet Hose rejects high engine bay temperatures and keeps
the intake air closer to ambient temperature. The steel reinforced design eliminates the issue of hose collapse
that other silicone inlet hoses suffer under vacuum at peak demand, yet allows adequate flex between the engine and the
intake.

The COBB Turbo Inlet Hose is designed to be a direct replacement of the OEM piece. Steel sleeves are used to join the
Turbo Inlet Hose to the stock intake and by-pass-valve. Installation is easy, requiring simple tools, no modifications
and all hardware is included. Color choices include traditional COBB Blue and our new Stealth Black.

I just ordered this and I'm waiting on the boost tube GB to fill up and ship. Im also going to replace the plugs while the IC is off, I have Denso one step colder plugs waiting for the inlet and tubes. I plan on taking before and after pics and I'll give my impressions after the install. I'm not expecting much in the way of gains but the parts going on are better than the ones coming off and since I already have the Cobb sri and my inlet and tubes are cobb blue as well, I will now have a color scheme under the hood.

I could not find it anywhere but the Cobb site. I was hoping I could get free shipping. Street Unit, seems funny being able to type their whole name and not just SU like on the other forum, has the CP-E advertised for $199.50. It looks the same as the Cobb but only comes in black. The Cobb was $178 w/shipping.

The designs are different, this looks completely circular all around and only 2.5" to 2.0".

Just one. Stock diameter on the intake side so it will fit our intake, stock, or any that attaches to the stock turbo inlet hose with the stock turbo compressor inlet diameter.

It's the tube that goes from your intake to your turbo. If you think the Cobb one looks cheap, take a look at the stocker sometime!

he means the nipple. That nipple is where the boost control solenoid bleeds off excess boost back into the intake system.

its the recirc nipple for the stock boost control solenoid. its where it bleeds back boost away from the wastegate. its not a huge deal that they are plastic whatsoever.

the fact that cpe chose brass over plastic will be essentially irrelevent to overall performance. if it breaks it can be easily replaced, and there isnt any danger if it does. or even goes unnoticed.

no big deal. i think the stock one is plastic.

Thats a nipple? it was hard to see it in the pic it looked like a mounting point or something. I guess I just made it obvious I haven't pulled the stock inlet off yet

I just received mine. I wounder if they will come out with new maps for the AP that will support this upgrade. To bad it didn't come with T-bolt clamps.

Ok so I received my Cobb Turbo Inlet today and will install it later. so i will do a write up for the speed6 since haltech did one for the speed3. Here are a few pics of it out of the box. It's a real nice piece.

Mine came in today and went on the car right away. I bought from Cobb and paid shipping. I looked on SU's site before ordering from Cobb but they were not showing it and I was affraid if I waited they would all be gone. My driving impressions are that the boost does seem to come in slightly faster but I could not say for sure if there was any real HP gain. The sound is slightly more pronounced but less than what I was expecting and for some reason my exhaust sounds deeper and more gnarly, however, it might just be my imagination running away with me. When releasing under high boost there is now a chirp to go with the ping. It sounds like a squirrel or ground hog bark and it is Groundhog day, so...

Worth $174??? My view is that all the little Performance mods complement each other and add up and I can now say that my intake is DONE.
