Talking Custom FMIC

Been thinking to switching to a FMIC for a long time. So for the past month I have been ordering parts for a custom kit. I got all my info from another member from another site. So im not taking all the credit for this setup. Also got some second hand brackets for this setup to mount the intercooler to the crash bar.

Been working on this for the past 2 days. Still not finished. Just small things like mounting the new washer tank still needs to be completed.

I could not believe how easy it was to remove the bumper! First timer here and took me 20 minutes flat. Cutting the crash bar took me an hour though... 20 hours into the install now. Hopefully 3 more to finish this up tomarrow. Enjoy

Heres most of the parts I used. Purchased the pipes from cxracing. Intercooler came from here also. Silicone couplers from ebay.

The forge stays!

Did some triming on the air diverter. Since the air doesnt need to scoop up anymore. It should be sent to the radiator.

And now for the most time consuming part. Cutting out 2 rows on the grill.

Snapped some shots with the bumper on.

Thanks guys! Finally finished up everything this afternoon. Drove the car a few miles down the road. Nothing crazy. BAT's are much lower. Overall feels much better. I need to try another map since now im getting -10% at idle as far as ltft's. Pressure tested for leaks and im clear.

Finished installing the washer tank today. Here are a couple shots.

Wow looks great. I'd also love to hear how it's performing and what the overall cost came out to be.

If its 80 out. Before cruising would be 125-130. Boosting and it would drop down to 115-120. Come to a stop and before I would see it at 170 degrees. And it would take a few miles to get it back down again. Now if its 80 out im around 115 degrees while crusing. Get on the boost now and it drops under 100.

Im ordering a SM catch can. I already have the intake manifold spacer and coolant bypass kit. Going to put these on at the same time. Lets see how low these temps can get without meth Even though im really considering meth. not wanting to put out 500 bucks now for the kit I want.

qwik6,

The boost response is probably a lot worse but the midrange and topend has probably improved right?

Also, whats the website for the intake manifold spacer?

All can be had for about 450 excluding shipping. Yes. PTP is where I got the spacer from.
I e-mailed cxracing with a list of pipes I wanted. They replied with the price of 98 bucks. You have to do this if you want black pipes since they are not sold seperate on the website.

About the boost response. I didnt notice that much of a difference. A little bit more lag but nothing to complain about. The forge is also VERY quiet now. I can barely hear it at all. Top end seems stronger. Cant wait to see what this thing will do with this new map im testing.

Your car looks awsome dude. Your grill and rims match beautifully. Also did you get those cf mirror covers off ebay because I was thinking about it but didnt know if fitment would be any good. How did you make that license plate bracket and whats it hooked up to?

Did you use the fuild pumps from the civic reservoir or did you use the mazda pump. Was the wiring the same for both or did you just splice them.

Thanx! Yes I got the mirror caps off ebay. Fitment was pretty good. On the washer tank I just removed the civic pump and capped it. Then drilled 2 new holes for the float and the pump. Then just spliced the wire and extended everything to the other side. I still need to re-do it as it wont hold any fluid. I think I need to pull the pump back out and seal it up well.

On the liscense plate I just bought a kit from RHO plate. At the time I did it there wasn't a kit specific for the speed6 so I bought the kit for the 3 or any car for that matter since I just wanted the plate to mount the liscense plate to. The I just used a tow hook and cut off the hook and had it drilled and tapped.

Member on another site?? Been here longer than you have. LOL.

Big mouth #3 was started on MSP6COP's car. Black piping like you, blue couplers to match his shit and I'm trying a slightly different routing on the top for super cleanliness.

Get on ebay and search 2.5" bpv flange pipe. Cost you like $20ish.
