(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score So I'm having my engine rebuilt with forged rods/Pistons and a BNR S1 or S2 turbo. No others mods at this time...will I need an upgraded fuel pump if we turn up the boost a little during the tuning session? Eventually I plan to upgrade the pump internals but not until I upgrade intake, intercooler and maybe add a down pipe. This will be my daily especially during the winter, but I do have a second car. |

This platform has been around for a long time and there is close to nothing that hasn't been discussed yet. Guys have had issues with fuel pressure with intake and a tune. The first thing that should be done is the fuel pump. Not number 3 or 4 on the list! | |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Yes, you should upgrade the pump unless you want to risk blowing your rebuild...

| Not Ranked : 0 score Yep. I used the CS kit and it made a huge benefit in daily driving by smoothing out the normal clutch release and the general smooth running of the engine. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

| What the hell are you talking about? The HPFP has absolutely nothing to do with your clutch, and should have no appreciable impact on engine smoothness. In fact, if anything it should make your car's engine's NVH worse.

| Even if it was on a different forum, you should think twice about spreading such misinformation. There's enough "Fake News" out there without the Mazda community adding to it.

| Not Ranked : 0 score OP: You should know that on this issue, if you have to ask, if you even think about it, the answer is "yes." The stock fuel pump is marginal as it is when new. Using an old pump with worn stock internals with probably a 100,000 miles on them is unthinkable if you "turn up the boost" even once. It takes less than one second of leaning out to destroy your engine. The damage can happen too fast to see it real time logging. Only if you were running a recorded data log at the time of the catastrophic engine failure and analyze the file later might you see a few cells of low rail pressure and wide injector bandwidth immediately preceeding the terminal event.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Hey all, Thanks for the responses! My knowledge of the MS3 is limited. I talked with my mechanic and he is going to check to see if the previous owner installed the upgraded internals. If not I'll have the extra work completed. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Stop crying. You said something entirely stupid, big deal we've all done it and we've all had to listen to the shit that follows. That's just life. Be thankful that these guys actually care enough to correct you on your mistakes so you don't sound so misinformed if a conversation like this were to ever come up again.
