Default DP finally installed

Finally after 2 rounds i was able to get the DP installed!!!

1st round we got everything off the car and ran into a issue with the O2 sensors being seized. After breaking the secondary O2 we decided to throw everything back on until i order new sensors since i didnt want to risk breaking the primary, which prob would of happened if not stripped it.

2nd round and after 2 weeks of my car sounding like a loud ass subi, we went back at it again. After 1 attempt at undoing the O2 sensor and it not budging, we decided to fuck the O2 sensor and just take a hacksaw to the heat shield. Everything after that was pretty much smooth sailing thanfully, even the flange bolts came out with a little finesse. Everything was going good up until the damn flebay vband clamp broke that came with the DP. Thankfully one of the members (do not know there name on here) from my Nator VA family came to the rescue with a extra vband. So out in the freezing cold we were able to get the vband on and everything secured. We forgot to put the heat shiel back on for the alternator, hopefully that wont cause any issues, and even after doubling up on gaskets i still have a exhaust leak where the DP bolts to the catback. Does anyone have a solution to this?

Big thanks to everyone in Nator VA that came out to give me a hand with the install, i couldnt have done it without you guys and gals!!

glad to hear you got everything together. The constant heat cycles on the O2's makes them a real bear. well done!

Dp's on a speed6 tend to be a big pain in the butt. Congrats on the install.

Check to make sure your DP and catback are all 3in. My DP was 3 and catback 2.5 at first but now I am all 3in.

if it wasn't for the O2 sensors then it wouldn't have been to bad. I still have the factory cutback so its def not 3 inches.

I unfortunately am not suffering from smoking turbo syndrome. 110k miles so i guess its to be expected, time to turn up idle some and start saving for a bnr upgrade

@almcbs; I know this is old but you should definitely consider putting the alternator heat shield back on. I'm assuming you have the ebay downpipe and I really don't like how close it runs to the alternator.

As for the leak at the downpipe to catback try a good quality gasket with some RTV on it to seal it and let it cure before starting the car.

If you're asking about the vband try this

i def plan on it, I already have a vibrant vband and picked up 2 gaskets for the catback side just been waiting for it to get a little warmer outside. I do have my dp wrapped but i too def dont like how close it sits to the alt so i will be throwing that shield back up there.

I have two gaskets on there now (the one that came with the dp and one i made from exhaust gas material) but it is still leaking. I plan on putting two new gaskets on there with some rtv as well and pray that it doesnt leak this time

yes i can def feel the gains and im sure once i get it tuned it will feel much better. plus i love the sound of the dp with the stock exhaust.

Yes one gasket should do. I guess you could do two but one with RTV should be fine.
