(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I just took apart my Forge BPV for the recommended maintenance (cleaning and regreasing) and realized that the topmost o-ring has been mauled. I tried Patty's "pen test" and it failed. Anyone else run into this issue? What causes this? How can we prevent it? I've PM'd Patty on the bad forums and have not heard back from him yet. Will Auto Zone carry a replacement o-ring or should I order from Forge? Thanks in advance, all. Xan

| Not Ranked : 0 score I think it usually happens when owners swap springs or add shims. The o ring fits in a tiny tiny little groove in the outer cap, and you have to very slowly twist the cap back on, to make sure it doesn't pop off. If you try to change shims or springs quickly, its incredibly easy for the o ring to pop out of its groove, and since its so tiny, it offers little or not resistance to the twisting of the cap, and will shear in half as you twist the cap on. I used the contact forge fillout section on their website, dealt with a lady whose email was angel@ |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Hmm...is it unsafe to drive with this valve not holding any boost? I am having trouble finding my OEM piece.
