Default FMIC Dilemma

I bought a new TR8 core from someone and almost a year later, still collecting parts for BT build, I found that it's actually a TR10. Guess I should have checked the part number a long time ago. Anyway, I also purchased a COBB piping kit that I planned on using with what I thought was a TR8.

After some searching, I didn't really come up with any solid solutions. I'd really rather not cut the stock crash bar. I'm wondering if the Genpu crash bars would work on the Genwon? I think I saw someone use the UR crash bar to mount a TR10 on their Pu.

Any other ideas for a possible solution?

BT is a 5858 with a goal of 500ish whp. I suppose if I had to, a TR8L would work just fine.

I psoted on DFW Mazdas as well - posting here for you too

Why not get with Donny at RPM to see if it's possible to fab up some brackets to fit the TR1035 core with no modifcation.

Based on the pics you posted on Facebook - I'm leaning now that you have a TR1035 core since you said the mounting points are on the side

TR10
TR10 Intercooler 666HP- TREADSTONE PERFORMANCE

TR1035
TR1035 Intercooler 666HP- TREADSTONE PERFORMANCE

HEre are the specs between the 3
TR8 = 7.8" X 22" X 3.5" - overal length 28"
TR10 = 10.5" X 24" X 3.5" - overal length 34"
TR1035 = 10.5" X 22" X 3.5" - overall length 30"

THe 1035 is only 2" longer than the Tr8 so the piping you have "should" be able to work(might be a bit tight)

The mounting locations for the 1035 and the Tr8 look like that are very similar.

Also, check with HTP to see if the new crash bar they are about to release (for genone) allows for more room for larger FMIC cores.
