Default Gauging interest: SteedSpeed Turbo Manifold

So after reading the thread about the protege garage manifold, and seeing some interest in the plenum style manifold, I thought I'd see if there was any real interest in this and try and bring steedspeed over to this forum.

These tend to be a little more expensive, but for the guys on this forum looking to make big power they could be a great alternative.

FWIW, they aren't THAT expensive for what they are. I think the price for the MSP manifold on their site is $625 coated. I think that PTP is selling the DNP mani coated for $699. The only bargain price one is the PG manifold at this time - I think $450 uncoated, so at least another $100 on top of that to be coated.

Hopefully this is the correct forum for SteedSpeed to market the MS3/MS6 turbo manifold - given the more hardcore performance nature that Haltech has provided! I would buy one (assuming MS6 compatibility!).

Well, steedspeed hasn't come over to this board yet, so until they post up, this thread is just to let them know whether there's enough interest to even bother with a prototype. Just post up if you are interested depending on gains/fitment/shininess whatever.

Ate, I am by no means committed to steedspeed, but I like the idea of a plenum mani and I know they came over to 247 a while ago, so who knows. Competition = good.

For sure. If it gives comparible gains to the others out there and keeps the turbo in stock fitment, and is coated, i would definitely be willing to pay 625 for it. I bet a lot of others would agree.

The reason it didn't get off the ground on 247 was that everyone was bitching that they wanted something for under $300 that would give 50+hp gains.... sigh.

Hi everyone

I heard there might be some interest in one of my billet CNC machined turbo manifolds so here I am if you have any questions. If there is enough interest I'll get going on the CAD design and perhaps one of you can try out a prototype for me?

From what I see it would be short runner similar to stock dimensions but with much bigger/smoother flowing passages. I'd also suggest having an external wastegate port for better performance. You can actually run two wastegates together keeping the original factory unit in place for additional exhaust gas evacuation.

I had posted in this thread like 5 years ago as well lol. I thought all hope was lost. If this can be proven and makes good gains, price is NOT an issue. Anything to help lessen the chance of an unwanted explosion. If you build it, they will come...........

whats the main advantage of this over say...PGs? Just higher quality materials and better build/quality, last longer, etc?

I'd imagine the shorter runner length could help at least a little bit. Also, quality of the materials and all that like you say.
It's comes precoated, and I'd imagine there wouldnt be any fitment issues since its a smaller, more compact design

Correct. Also it will perform better than PG product because I can machine passages to whatever shape I want rather than being restricted to the tubes which are available to a welder/fabricator. There are no sharp edges and poor joins between pipes because they are all machined precisely using CNC machining centers. Flanges are also machined spot on and are very rigid due to the overall construction method. You won't ever have to open up a hole on one of my manifolds to get it to fit! I suppose it is hard for some people to understand what my manifolds are all about but if you want an unbiased answer then please post a feedback request on any forum where I have sold product and ask my customers what they think of my manifolds and customer service.
