Default Hi bnr s3 best turbo for stock block?

Hi guys
New to this site as I am UK based

Looking to potentially upgrade my turbo and the main option I'm seeing is bnr s3 the problem with the UK mps. As we call them not many people have modded them as parts are a pain to get hold of over here

I'm aiming for 370-400 bhp eventually I will hopefully be running meth at some point aswel
I doubt I will forge the engine unless it goes bang really.

So far I have
Hpfp
K and n intake
2nd decat

Do you guys think that this would be the best idea for what I want?
I will be getting a downpipe and maybe a intercooler if my budget can stretch that much

Also is there a for sale section on this site?
Do many parts come up for sale?
Do people ship to the UK

I have a mk1 MPS 2007 or gen 1 I believe you know them by
Thanks
Thomas

Interesting first post..

You gave to donate in order to see the For sale section.
They'll ship to UK if you pay for shipping of course.

You'll be happy with the BNR, go for it.

Thanks

I've bit the bullet and ordered one now

Hopefully it will be what I expect to be

It comes with
3" intake
3bar map señor and harness
Grim speed 3port

Do you guys think I will need a down pipe to benefit fully

Also heard it's easier to change downpipe when doing turbo change ?

Thanks

Another option would be the drop-in turbo from Corksport. Can't go wrong with either one though. Just be sure to get an e-tune with the turbo.

Oh, and Welcome! Always glad to have more Mazda enthusiasts from elsewhere around the globe.

As said I've ordered the bnr now a few people over here have them and seem to be happy with how they perform

Thanks for the welcome

The MPS community in the UK is good but just parts are a pain as the majority of them have to come from the U.S. And we get stung on import tax

I have a tuner that we all use over here so he will adjust my map accordingly

I'm using a Cobb v3

If that's what the majority of you guys use or versatune

Not sure what kind of emission testing you have in the UK, going fully catless will net you a few more ponies and yes, it is easier to change the DP when you do the turbo swap. I would recommend getting a v-band DP as then you can install the DP flange on the turbo before you drop the turbo in.

Lol, looks like your post went up while I was doing my sloth-like typing. I would definitely get a dp and, as you said, install with the turbo. I guarantee you will want one later anyway (given your hp goal), so save the time and hassel of pulling the stock one twice. The dp will net you more power and enhance spooling. It's by far the biggest exhaust bottleneck.

Yep, most of us here have accessports. The v3 is especially nice, love having 6 gauges.

With regards to emissions we have to get a mot test (basic safety check) once a year and a fully catless wouldn't pass the emissions test luckily some mot testers will look the other way if you hand them a extra note when paying and I know a few of them so we are good there

I will have a look into down pipes as said no doubt I will want to do at some point may as well get it all done at once
Thanks

Emissions on the mk1 MPS are poor anyway we have to pay a yearly road tax and for the Mazda its £500 a year a normal hot hatch I.e focus St Astra vxr is £260

So Mazda done something wrong the first time round

There's a lot of people in UK selling used parts on the MPS owners club forum and fb group with the same name. They usually recommend bnrs3 too. And getting a downpipe locally should not be a problem Shipping from the us is usually expensive on parts like that.

Justin Heath seems to do a good job with the tunes. A bit too conservative for my taste though.

You should do EGR delete at same time when you have the intake and turbo out.

I'm on the UK forums and parts do sometimes come up for sale just never the time I wan to buy them but I suppose that's the way it goes most times

Yeah I'm tuned by Justin and the map seems fine but I understand what your saying about being a bit cautious a lot of other cars with same turbos run higher boost than I am running I know that's not the only factor but yeah

I will look into egr delete
Thanks
