It is a v-band. You can google GS turbo's and you'll find plenty of stories of just how shitty they are.

As for the WG, I have never seen an open design like that. The exhaust housing is v-band and there is no flange for the WG to fit up against the downpipe, so I'm assuming it just dumps that shit to atmosphere. Ghey!

the wastegate is plumbed back into the vand, u can see the slit to the right of the vband exit, and the c clip holding a plate to reroute the exhaust into the vband outlet, just dont do it . ha

yeah..........that's just horrible. during my search of just how shitty these turbo's are, I was surprised at how many asshats were using them on Supra's, 240's, and other cars that are generally considered nice.

Don't get me wrong I've never used a chinese knock-off, but I think it's mostly an uneducated guess on most peoples part who just want to jump on the bandwaggon of how all chinese turbos are made from recycled burmese soda cans and wont perform well, and will fail on you in a few miles.

There are numerous acounts of both fails and wins with these types of turbos, and from seeing some people I know use them and reading about it forum to forum it seems like its about 60/40 win to fail ratio but that raio seems to be growing further apart every couple of years (in favor of "win").

With the amount that you can save to take that sort of risk the risk vs reward is leaning heavily towards the reward, seeing as you can usually buy 4-5 (or even more) of these knock-offs for the cost of one genuine make.

Besides I'm not looking to put it on my 08 MS3 , but on my 1990 626 gt I bought for $600. Not that I havent thought about putting one of these on the MS3.

tons of guys on miata turbo run china turbos with great success. they won't spool as fast as a DBB garrett of course...but when you factor in the cost, it's hard not to consider them.

For a cheap car/project on a budget, sure why the hell not. A lot of guys seem to blow oil the oil seals, at least on Miatas, so guys just run an oil inlet restrictor and all is good. Not sure how oil pressure is on the 626 vs miata, but something to keep in mind.
