I want a new turbo

I want a new turbo which needs to spool at least as a GTX3071 (or faster) and have slightly more top end than a GTX3071 (like a GTX3076 is perfect), and be IWG. Which turbo is this and with what flanges? I don't mind changing the ex mani and going T4 if it comes to that.

He already has a built engine so he might as well go with a 7163 since he can utilize the early spool. I'd also trust the IWG from an EFR infinitely more than the IWG from the ATP hotside.

I agree really. Just was mentioning that OP pretty much announced what he needed wanted in the first post.

If I could do things over and budget allowed, I probably would have gone with the 7163 over my current GTX3076.

The BNR S4 and the CS turbo have significantly less top end than the GTX3071. The differences between the S4/CS and GTX3071 is probably as big as the difference between the GTX3071 and GTX3076. Just look at the logs that pop up on the forum from time to time.

This is what I'd get if it didn't spool a bit slower than the 3071. I'm doing a lot of street courses and hill climb and the response of the GTX3071 is at the limit of usability. It's fine but still needs to get in use to. With the GTX3076 I'd have to left foot brake quite a lot to keep it in boost, while now I rarely have to do that with the 3071.

I'm not sure you can fit a Holset unless if you're top mount. The compressor covers are gigantic.

Indeed the Holset have huge compressor housing (I have a top-mount setup), but the HY35 spool and flow like crazy if you ask me

Holset are heavy-duty turbo, but they require large oil drain line (19mm) and low crankcase pressure otherwise they will leak oil
