Default Intake Sputter

My intake seems to sputter when I accelerate. It's been doing it ever since I took my car to the dealer and had the turbo replaced under warrenty. Since it's a CPE aftermarket intake they have washed there hands of the problem at the dealership.

It's a very noticable sputter, I can hear it clearly and I can feel it in the acceleration, more of a shutter through out the whole acceleration.

I had a post before that I was having an issues with an over boost and boost cut but that has gone away, now I just have the stuttering.

Any advice?

I don't have the factory parts, just the CPE CAI.

Do you have a way to log your fuel pressure?
Check the clamps on your intake and turbo inlet. Do you have a way to see what vacuum/boost you are making?

Mine was making a sound similar to what you are describing... turned out to be that my BPV was leaky. Check, double check and triple check for boost leaks. My bet is that something wasn't hooked up right when they replaced the turbo and you've got a vacuum line loose somewhere.

I had a similar problem when one of my clamps broken on my intake. Switched to t-bolt clamps and the problem stopped.

Check for any leaks on your intake, bpv, or the intercooler tubes.

I back up the leak theory too. Same thing happened to me when I forgot the clamp on the bypass hose once... and then again when I forgot to tighten the clamp at the maf adapter too... Seemed to be worse in cool weather and hardly noticed in the afternoon when it was warmer out or when the engine was warmed up.

I don't have any way to check the pressure yet, it's on the wish list to the wife for my bday but that is a month away.

I will check the clamps to make sure those are all tight, I will repost tonight when I get home.

Thanks for the help

You should get a dash hawk to monitor boost. Does just about everything in this car and it can datalog so we can better diagnose any issues you are having.

when wifey decides you are worthy, hit me up and I can get you a great price.

Well I can't find any leaks but that doesn't mean that they aren't there. When it comes to working on cars I am less then able. I don't suppose anyone lives in Boise or the surrounding area that I could bribe with pizza and beer to come help me out is there?

Also I may be driving to Portland, OR in the next few weekends if there is someone around Portland I could bribe with pizza and beer

Thanks for all the advice from everyone, wish I knew what the hell I was doing!
