(Thread Starter) |   Not Ranked : 0 score  Intermit noist after Downpipe Hello all, Just got done installing a catted 3inch DP on the speed 6 and when building boost after a full day of no issues, I get a weird wistle like noise but mettalic when building boost and felt like I was only hitting about half boost. At idle it smelled like exhaust, but after letting it sit off for 1 1/2 hours during dinner came back out and hitting full boost and no noise. I would think that if I had an exhaust leak it would not fix itself. This started on Saturday night and after sitting for a bit it went away, then came back yesturday afternoon. Let it sit and it went away again. I still thinking I have an exhaust leak but again dont think it would come and go. Any ideas would be helpful. I have full 3 inch TBE and Inlet, intake. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score When I read things like this I immediately think back to the time when I mis-placed an allen key into the turbine inlet side on a Colt with a G32BT..... it made strange whistling noises with a metallic ting ting ting as well for a bit... without a log we are all guessing but I would question any missing parts/tools and double check the waste gate arm before doing any WOT runs....

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Sorry for the no logs as I do not have any. The downpipe was a necessity as my upper cat started to disintegrate. I do not have a Cobb or anything to log at this time. The turbo only has 2k on it due to smoking issues and was covered under warranty. Thats when we found the bad cat. This was more to see if anyone had experienced this same situation looking for more of a mechanical failure. As for the 4 years with no post, I lost my last speed 6 and just recently acquired a new one. |
