| Not Ranked : 0 score How positive are you? I had a leak that looked like it was coming from that bolt, but it turned out I needed new crush washers, and my feed line needed to be tightened up with a smaller hose. But the drips were coming right from that bolt.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Not positive at all to be honest. The coolant hose is directly above that bolt right? I ordered new new crush washers and new banjo bolt already. You went with a smaller hose? Was this on a Turbo other than the stock K04? Cause mine is stock, as is the coolant line.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I’m getting ready to replace the bolt, do I need to drain the coolant before doing so? And do you have any idea the torque specs on it?

| Not Ranked : 0 score Yes you’ll need to drain some otherwise you’ll have a big mess to clean up. No clue on torque, just go till it’s tight.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Also I thought I responded, yes this was on a ko4, I needed a smaller hose since I previously replaced it after I clocked my turbo and the line was a tad big.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Before starting a new thread let me ask you one other quick question. After installing my catted DP, I got the typical white smoke at idle (oil is RP 5w30 for ethanol so can’t go up to 5w40). I ordered an oil restrictor bolt, the next the smoking was totally gone (the turbo has about 8500 miles on the rebuild so I’m assuming the seals are still in good shape). My question is, will it hurt to install the restrictor bolt even though it’s not smoking at the moment?

| Not Ranked : 0 score Well it is a ko4 so that’s completely fine. From the factory that bolt feeds just a little too much oil anyway so I would recommend you use the Restrictor bolt to make the turbo last longer.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Alright awesome, I will go ahead and put it in on. I didn’t realize the extra oil would actually shorten the life of the turbo. Thank you very much!
