(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I been searching last night and this morning and the things that I have seem to come up upon are: -Stock system is fine, and if its spiking something wrong with the car itself -Grimspeed EBCS in 2 port mode (does not require tuning) and will stop spiking -Grimspeed EBCS in 2 port mode BUT will still cause spiking -Perrin EBCS in 2 port mode but still still cause spiking -Change wastegates to something that just goes by spring pressure to get your target boost So I have seen answers all over the map, what works? FYI I am running a Piasini Tune for 18psi. However sometimes I spike to 20/21psi. I am trying to see what I can do to stop the spiking, if not atleast minimize it. Can anyone shed some light on this?

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Reading more...seems like the Grimspeed may actually work with a stock setup to control spikes. Anyone confirm this?

| Not Ranked : 0 score Don't know about Grimspeed's ability to control the spikes. But I would be reluctant to use an aftermarket solenoid product like that in conjunction with a tune as the two may not work together very well and may be at cross purposes. I do know one thing which did work for me to control spikes. I was spiking to 21 psi on stock ECU with my catless dp/rp. This was not boost creep. This was momentary, transient spikes when coming up on boost at WOT. When I went with the Hypertech tune the spikes disappeared while giving me a 19 psi load target and no load cut. I can't say this would work for you. And I know that you would be reluctant to get a different tuning device after having spent money on a tune. But what this proves is that boost spikes can be tuned out. Maybe whoever did your Piasini tune can customize it to reach the same result? Just a thought . . .

| Not Ranked : 0 score I would consult Piasani tuning, or whomever tuned your car for the answer to "tuning" out your spike. Let them know that you might be interested in utilizing a 3 port solenoid. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score since you're already considering buying stuff to fix this: AP + ATR...tune using boost instead of load. (check the ATR section for how) <done> |

| Not Ranked : 0 score 1)the best way to control boost is via a tune hands down. 2) most research shows boost controllers on these cars don't work too well due to the way the ECU sees boost and interprets the signal, and thus controls fuel/timing/etc. 3) if you're looking on this particular forum for solid info good luck. This is one of the worst sites for legit info |

| Not Ranked : 0 score We may be a rough, tough and roudy crowd. Downright offensive at times. Well, most of the time. We may be intolerant to stupidity. Hell, we are extremely intolerant of stupidity. But you're not going to find a more knowedgable and experienced group of hard-core enthusiasts for the MS3 and MS6 anywhere on the web. Period. There is more technical know-how here than anywhere else. I might modestly suggest more useful info is here than all the other forums combined. And if you disagree with me -- go fuck yourself and your homo dick sucking man-bitch! (No offense meant - LOL)
