ms6 boost problem...2 psi

My car suddenly cant build boost past 2 psi....ii checked the ic boost elbows and clamps..I checked the vacuum lines at the ebcs and intake... I reflashed my ots 1 map.. still no boost... wastegate duty is 50 % at wot...

Wastegate might be stuck open. Does the wg actuator and arm look ok? Still hooked up? when did it work last and what did you do since?

re-check all connections: BOV, intercooler pipes, TIP, etc.

Did you do a visual inspection or did you do an actual boost leak test. Always best to start there and rule the obvious out.

I looked at everything 3 times... 2 weeks ago I installed corksport sri and tip, still needed maf cal but all was well not like this... ill get a log tomorrow afternoon

Did you hear anything when it "all of a sudden" stop boosting? Sounds like a massive boost leak or the wastegate is not hooked up anymore.

Oh and your cat could also have shat itself blocking the exhaust and in turn not allowing the turbo to spool.

How viable is the clogged cat option....

most important thing do you hear it trying to spool or like the turbo is working hard because your turbo could have simply shit the bed

something could have fallen into turbo inlet while you installed blocking flow or touching turbo blades

take the TIP off and reach back there and touch the turbo blades and see if is spins freely or feels rough and grindish feeling and shaft play

Very, can also occur slow where you gradually lose boost. If it is you should hear it when you rev it up.

did you suck a paper towel in the intake? That will cause you to get 0 boost and ruin your turbo. Ask me how I know.

Had it happen on my sonoma a few years back. Created enough of a block to stop the truck dead at 80 on the highway....twice. So yeah it's a viable option, and it can be a mess.

Im thinking it might be a clogged cat.... at 4,500 rpm and up. Sounds like a pressurized poping noise like the exhaust has no where to go

I'd inspect the turbo before driving it, just in case.

Pulled the top o2 sensor and was able to build 6 psi. So I take it as a clogged cat

What if the 02 sensor is your problem and not the cat? keep the 02 sensor in but disconnect it to go to a static table instead of live 02 readings and see what happens. By pulling the 02 sensor you exposed it to fresh air and it may have reported something different to the ecm that let it build boost.

I've chased what I thought were clogged cats in other cars and it was never clogged cats. Not common in this platform based on my experience.
