Unhappy Oil restrictor bolt increasing K04 smoke?

I recently (An hour ago) installed a JBR oil restrictor bolt to help throw a bandaid on my shitty K04. I used new crush washers, and made sure that the area around it was clear of debris. After letting it idle for a few minutes, the smoke came back. Disappointed, I took it around the block to see if it would go away, but a huge trail of smoke followed!

The only thing I can think of is that I managed to starve it of oil, or that the seals just picked that exact time to shit the bed. I have ATR, and am in the process of bumping my idle. A JBR OCC is sitting in the garage, too. That one might take a bit longer. Has anyone ever experienced this? If so, is it time to get a new turbo? I have searched a fair bit, and can't find anything similar that doesn't end in 'GT3071R'...

A few things to note: My car is a 2007 at 60,000 miles, with a Cobb SRI, TP, and a mild tune. I do not have the PCV fix, and as previously stated, I don't have my OCC installed yet, however I did include a check valve in my purchase, which may or may not help. I might be on the factory PCV valve, too. The previous owner was a complete jabroni and never took it in to get VVT or turbo replaced, even under warranty.

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

If you're at 60,000 miles, the turbo should still be under warranty I believe.

You may still have a shitload of oil in the exhaust that will take a while to burn off.

I have a restrictor bolt in mine and if I hold high rpm with light throttle, it'll smoke screen pretty bad. I do have an OCC as well. I haven't checked my drain line to be sure it's not clogged but I doubt that's it.

I do however have a gt28 to go on so no fucks given.

I guess it's been some time, and I owe you guys an update.

I called Mazda asking about my warranty. Technically, I am over the limit year wise, but well below as far as mileage goes. The rep on the phone was sympathetic (I bought the car a week after the warranty expired), so he told me to take it to the dealer and verify the issues. Obviously, I didn't want to throw my only inspection away due to aftermarket parts, so I stocked out. Unfortunately, the smoke disappeared after putting the cat, stock banjo bolt, intake, and tune back in the car. I took it to the dealer anyways, and of course they didn't see any smoke, or the VVT rattle which I know I have. (I have removed the valve cover and found wear marks from the chain.) Also, it fucking rattles on startup and idle, but no, they totally couldn't hear it...

Anyways, I was sitting in traffic today, and I noticed some smoke coming from my tailpipe, so I might be able to take the damn thing back in. Who knows what they'll say. The new CS turbo or BNR S3/4 are looking more and more tempting.

Raising idle by 200 rpm usually resolves the problem if it has not gone too far. I see you are working toward that. Give it a try.

The turbo is under warranty until 7k, or 7 years. It's the 7 years at this point that will get you. I had the same problem at 80k+ miles. At idle it would fart out smoke clouds. I went banjo bolt and raised idle but it didn't help so I had to idle at like 1.5k rpms manually or just shut the car off at stop lights. Just this past week did I got my BNR s3 installed and never looked back. Such a great feeling to be able to idle again. Just go with the new turbo instead of dicking around with that pos K04.

And when you stock back out, it changes the crankcase pressure back to normal and you wont see the smoke. Mine didn't smoke until I put my Test pipe on, and BAM, smoke. It's ironic lol.
