Problems w/ cpe xcel cai install

Installed it on my friends stock ms3...bought it used w no instructions...I've tried searching w no answers...where do you mount the support bracket too? And why is it hitting the shifter weight we had to turn the shifter weight so that he could get into 1st-6th? We also installed this onto the stock turbo inlet pipe also if that helps

You mount it to a spot on the outside frame rail.

That's what i thought what do I have to remove to get it to fit there?

You have to take out the complete resonator, the shield piece as well.

And if the shifter weight is hitting it, that was common on early ones. I had the 2nd one made, so I know how to fix it. Remove the forward shifter weight bolt loosen the rear. Then rotate it clockwise until it wont hit, tighten rear. Now, you can also make it easier to shift by cutting off the extra chunk of weight that hits. I have one like that and it is smooth. The other, is to just cough up $25 for one from most vendors.

Did the intake come with the vibramount for between the intake and the frame? If not, no need to spend $35 with CPE,

Cant the weight just be removed? I havent had mine on for 6 months.

It just doesn't feel right without it. And yeah, do what Raider said, reverse the weight so it curves out wards and then save up and buy a new weight from Cobb, TWM or the other guys we won't name.

Some even just cut the stock weight.
