I edited the price out since I got like 7 sales within minutes of posting the info. I'm down to like 5 left with about 10 people asking how to get one. I want to sell the few I have left without over-selling. Then we can get feedback as to whether it worked for others before I even consider making more or if anyone else wants to make them.

If it's like every other smoke "fix" about 1 in 3 will notice a difference and the others will yet again be SOL. For the record, the restrictor bolt took me down to small puffs. The catch can alone didn't work, but along with the restrictor bolt it got rid of the rest of what the restrictor couldn't get rid of... I also have the PTP windage tray, but that didn't seem to do much at all for the smoking.

At one time non of us smoked so you should not wait until the smoking starts.

If you're stock, let the dealer take care of it. The only way to truly fix it for everyone is to make Mazda replace enough turbos that they realize that the turbo isn't the problem. Then, they can issue a recall after they get their heads out of their respective asses.

I've been doing battle with Paypal to unlock my funds. All of the $20 payments without a part number raised their red flags (plus another payment that was locked from a military serviceman because he was overseas). All of that seems to be cleared up as of yesterday afternoon. I will ship them Monday via UPS and post tracking numbers again.

I got my bolt, however I'm getting rid of it. I wrecked my buddies dirtbike out at the mudpit the other day and well... the money that was gonna buy me a DP/TP combo is now going to fix his very expensive 250.


The bolt is well cut though. nothing rough at all.



If anything this bolt will help the forums out some more. 12.5% of my sale is going to the forums.

with the BSD i use 8 qrts of oil and still no smoke........some of you with BSD only use 6.5?...i added 7 qrts the first time I un installed my BS and it wasnt enough..8 qrts is perfect!

i have 40,000 miles on the car now and I only see smoke the first time I fully hit the throttle and it is only a TINYYYY puff of black smoke after that full throttle or not no smoke at all... i guess i am lucky..

i checked my VIN and I have one of the last 07 speed 6's built so maybe they fixed some problems?

For some people that had really bad smoking issues on the OEM setup, the turbo might just be too far gone for anything to stop the smoking at this point...

People smoke from 06 MS6 to brand new 09's. Different oil, catch cans, second PCV's... Nothing has worked for me until I used them all together with this restrictor bolt.

Just lettin you know there are 09 and now 2010 speed 3's with the same engine... Do you have any exhaust modifications? That seems to be the biggest fault that starts the smoking.

Anyone else with this bolt not working? After shipping and site donation, I could still refund you guys like $4-$5 or something... I feel bad.

I have a 2.5 inch test pipe ....and I am aware of speed 3's having the same engine but still I was just correcting what I thought you said about speed 6's "07 to 09's "

i was juss being a tard no need to correct what u was trying to say I got the point.....

before I got the test pipe on the car it smoked every first time I hit the gas hard then after that nothing but now with the test pipe I really can't remember the last time I let out a puff of anything...???

No problem, I was just being a smart ass in correcting you back...

It sounds as if you're describing something much different than the smoking we're talking about. You're describing a gas/rich condition when under throttle. What we're discussing here is oil smoke at prolonged idle, like while sitting at a stoplight or going through a drive-through pickup window at a fast food joint. Two different animals.

The place that gave me the restrictor size recommendations (G-pop Shop) does rebuilds and reworks K04 turbos for one of the site vendors. I can't remember which one (PG or PTP).

heres a doozy,

my car smokes no more then 15 sec after its been idling, everywhere, everytime. BUT if i "hold the hill" by giving it like 1200rpms and letting the clutch out just enough that the car wants to go but is still stopped, boom no smoke. i do this at every light to avoid embarassment. i would be really curious to see the OP difference between my method and just a reg idle. thsi has soemthing to do with why raising the idle helps some people and not others. any thoughts?

Yeah, engine load does seem to have something to do with it too, like you're describing. I'm not going to do it your way though... our clutches get enough abuse without dragging the clutch/pressure plate and cooking the springs. I'd never do that in this car, no matter how much it smoked.

just to note if i also just hold a ~1500 rpm idle using the gas it also doesent smoke. this would indicate it has something to do with the exhaust backpressure. has anyone tried a different return line yet? maby the oil is getting backed up as well like PTP mentioned.
