Basically he is taking my stock Turbo (Spare I have) Port and Polish the Exhaust Housing, Trim the rubine wheel, Machine Comp housing for bigger comp wheel, install new seals, 14lbs Waste gate.
This setup will flow 39lb/hr and 575cfm

All for around $800 give or take a few bucks.

Big Tim from another forum turnned me onto this guy and he is awesome.

You will def have issues with that WG.

I had the 14psi WG on my GT30 (turbo itself doesn't matter), and controlling boost was crazy. I ordered a 7psi WG and I can now safely and easily control m boost using my MBC.

What should be be expecting on the gt3071? I think I read somewhere that the original wastegates they were sending out had problems.

IIRC there's a guy on m6c that had his turbo reworked and mentioned that his turbo has started smoking again after 6 months... i think his SN is joeyD. i'll try and find that thread in bit.

could be the seals giving out? juicing up the stock turbo puts more stress on it...right?

If it's the stock seald then maybe I could see that. Mine is being built with the seals from a Garrett turbo machined down to fit mine. Going to be alot stronger

i'd like to see how this turns out for you! we'll see how the wastegate works on the 3071r. Just go pick up a vacuum tester from autozone to see what wastegate the 3071r has. I plan on running 14-16psi for awhile on the 3071r, just for adaptation of the ecu. I'll be doing the install on Tuesday night (if my turbo gets here tuesday like the tracking number says it will!) and then that weekend I'll be driving 4hrs to dallas (yay for ECU adaptation!). I won't even get to enjoy the car for another 3 weeks
