(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score So I'd got my speed6 about a month ago, and since then have done the VVT fix & ordered an accessport, hpfp internals (which i should have had the dealer do when i had the VVT serviced, doh) and some other goodies. Been searching up a LOT on this platform. I've punched it before the VVT fix all the way to redline, to which there was no issue, and precautiously checked the AP to see if there were any codes that it threw, but there was not. But after visiting the dealer and having the VVT done I'm popping these: PCM (no descrip avail. P0234 (Engine Overboost Condition) P0245 (Turbo Wastegate Solenoid A Low) At higher RPMs (as such, higher boost pressures) I have a sudden jerk & loss of power, which has happened 3-4 times now as I was trying to see what the cause was. This happens in gears as low as 3rd. I haven't installed the HPFP but i doubt this is the cause. I've also been throwing P2178 running rich on idle bank 1 / running rich on idle at random but it seems to disappear and come back, likely dirty filter/maf, had an o2/afr sensor replaced which was busted apparently so i'm not too worried about that. I'm going to go ahead and guess the dealership fucked with something they shouldn't have as this was not a problem before, but i dunno. Supposedly my wastegate could be getting stuck open which may be the fault of a shorted/bad/disconnected EBCS (P0234), which would lead to overboosting (P0245)???, but this hadn't shown prior to the VVT fix. Pointers? Places to check? I gathered that the EBCS connection is near the end of the turbo inlet pipe, but correct me if I'm wrong. Car's at 110k miles anyhow, should i just be replacing the ebcs/MAP sensor, install the hpfp and replace the bpv with corksports mzr bpv and get a tune then call it a day? Just trying not to bend a rod and fuck my engine. Consider me a little worried so I've just been shortshifting like a motherfucker. If y'all need more info please let me know, I've done a handful of searching around and I've got people saying it's just broken parts, that it's shorts, disconnected parts or a boost leak/vac leak. Any and all help is appreciated. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Check all connections, electrical and vacuum, to the EBCS. Sounds like the dealer didn't hook everything up right after their VVT fix.

![]() Only reason I suspect the dealer did fuck up is because those codes were not showing prior to the fix, and I definitely was keeping a lookout because it's a new purchase I want to fix stuff before it goes horribly wrong. Will update with more important/pertinent shit but for now it's just a waiting game. It still runs, and smooth, just can't get into boost too hard.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Turns out the EBCS came unplugged, which was the cause of P0245 (wastegate solenoid A low) Thought I was good, pushed the throttle again and.. got boost cut.. again. My code list was clear until the boost cut. Now I'm stuck with PCM and P0234 again. I've read it could be a MAF (calibration) issue, possibly the colder weather, maybe I need a proper tune, take the time to actually install my HPFP, or some other various reason(s), but if you guys have any other suggestions I'll give it a go. Learning... slowly. Perhaps I just need to big-dick it and get a new turbo, swap to fmic, bpv, MAP and ebcs and see how that goes lol. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Ditching factory parts for aftermarket is always the first step in making codes go away.......everybody knows that. MAF calibration never needs to up updated with weather or altitude changes.

I narrowed it down -- the Stage0 Cobb map, supposedly a re-creation of the Mazda base map for all of their cars seems to have been causing the boost cut and p0234 overboost code. I had a hunch, unmarried my AP and then drove it around and got the nuts to floor it and see how it went, no shaking, no jutting, no sudden loss of power or anything. Whereas with the Stage0 map loaded it cut boost at around 70-80% throttle. I'm going to guess the car already had a tune that stage0 had fucked with. Which makes me wonder what else was done to the car so that I don't talk to a tuner and give them incorrect info about what parts are on the car. I haven't really dug around much, mostly due to laziness ![]() Got a jack and jackstands the other day, i'm going to be parking it for the time being and when I'm back from my vacation I'll dig around some more and see what I find. So far though, seems like I resolved the issue? I'll update if it comes back, otherwise I'm gucci.
