smoke on idle?

So i've had no problems on my car since i've installed my Corksport Downpipe minus the cel that keeps coming off and on.

But today...after like a 30 min drive driving mostly 70-75 i came to my destination and let my car idle for a bit. After 5 mins or so alot of smoke was coming out my engine and alot more from my tailpipe and the smell was horrible lol. Is this because of my downpipe? Bad turbo seal?

What should i do?

when you say out of youe ENGINE and your tailpipe what does that mean ?? i can undestand out the tailpipe, that is normal with a modded exhaust, but you shouldnt see smoke under the hood. maybe your DP came loose or something ??

I was good till about a week ago and then I saw my first puff of smoke at idle its now starting to happen more frequently. its never alot but still annoying.

yeah...time for a new turbo.

I've stood by my car after boosting pretty hard and watched the turbo glow red for 6 minutes at idle.

I live, and work in the suburbs also my commute isn't during rush hour so no I probably don't even sit idle for 2 minutes I would lose my mind sitting in traffic for a whole 5 minutes

I was assuming he meant a cool down idle

I have a new turbo already. I didn't want to tell people that its probably not the turbo.

so should i bring it to mazda lol? yeh there was like a little smoke coming out the sides of my hood but not alot maybe the downpipe is loose...?

it was a cool down idle and it was around 3-5mins lol

yeah i would say your downpipe has to be loose. i only have 4 bolts on mine cause one of the studs snapped and i dont have any smoking escaping the connection.

my stoker smoked like crazy without cats. the new PG turbo is wayyyy better but still does it from time to time. i have to really punish the car for a prolonged period, and then let it idle for over2 mins for it to happen. i usuall dont do the whole turbo cool down crap to be honest. the turbo is oil + water cooled it doesnt really need it. UNLESS the egt's are way high when i am done driving. if the egt's are below 1200 degrees i just shut it off.

I dont have egt guage, does it take much to get them over 1200? Like say I floored 2nd- 4th full boost a couple times in a row and then went to idle for ex., would my egt's be above a safe temp?

sounds like me. now that im catless if i beat on the car then try and idle
2-3 mins later a little bit of smoke. nothing major but still.....

hmm no studs or bolts where loose....jus checked right now...

how do i know its the turbo though? because it doesn't happen all the time?
