(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score buying a tbe and can't decide between the corksport tbe or a atp catted dp/cpe catted down pipe with the cpe dual exit. is the second setup really worth the extra money ? which would sound better ? |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I run a CPe Single exit with PERM non-catted DP and the Car sounds awesome. Might throw a extra resonator in it this winter to help with HWY drone tho (Drone is to be expected on any straight pipe exhaust). |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I had a stock DP, Corksport 3" resonated test pipe, and the Corksport 3" dual exhaust. I got alot of compliments on the sound, mostly from STI owners. Sounded great outside the car, but it was pretty loud on the inside. And it shakes the house windows in the winter time when I start the car to let it warm up.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I paid like $300 or $400 bucks for a shop to build me a 3" to dual 2.5" y-pipe + magnaflow mufflers, it sounds amazing and it was made for my car. Catback is going to have very minimal effects on turbo backpressure.

| Not Ranked : 0 score U can delete the second cat it's as long as u still have ur main cat. You can replace it with a high flow cat to minimize the chances of your turbo smoking. Going catless increases the chance of that happening greatly

| Not Ranked : 0 score For this I've got full cpe, with cpe downpipe, dual exit exhaust , high flow cat, sounds great & great performance. As far as the notorious smoking problem when putting on a bigger downpipe and bigger exhaust with a stock turbo, it is hit and miss if u will have the problem, but if you do the best way to get rid of it IMHO is to bring your idle up. I smoke pretty bad originally, but after bumping up the RPM at idle I rarely if ever see smoke, and she sounds better a couple hundred rpm higher. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

| Not Ranked : 0 score And yes I went through all of the other fixes of banjo oil restricter bolt (~$20), heavier oil (Rotella 5w-40), turbo seals were replaced twice, and there was a recall fix on some models that I had done... None of them worked. I took the car to the dealer for some warranty stuff and they performed an unsolicited oil change for me and put in their normal oil. That was the only time I smoked after I bumped up my idle. So I have seen a direct correlation to oil type and idle rpm. The oil restricter bolt may or may not be doing anything.
