Default Stock Turbo removal

This might be a dumb question but I was wondering if it's possible to remove the stock Turbo by unbolting then sliding out towards the drivers side with the battery box and intake removed? I took the intake and battery box out last week just to check and it seems like it'll be close.

Anyone have any advice on the easiest way to pull the Turbo out? Planning on replacing it this weekend and dont want to pull the manifold.

Please search and you will find many how to's on this. Short answer, yes, you can do this, but removing the EGR makes it easier also.

How do you even get it out that way? Do you have to remove the DP? I looked at doing it that way last weekend and it looked like it wouldn't fit past the axle.

Yes, remove the dp, and you can "rotate" it over the axle.

Easiest and fastest (atleast to me) straight out the intake side.

I've installed/removed as big as a gtx3076 that way. Remove intake, battery, egr, dp bolts, mani bolts and slide out. Obviously all the coolant / feed lines

Try doing it in an MS6. I went into a murder-rage at least 3 or 4 times while removing the k04 and installing the BNRS3.

Got it out, went out through the intake side. Wound up having to drain the coolant when I pulled the egr for whatever reason. Maybe I need to replace my thermostat again.

Yeah but usually the whole reservoir won't drain through the egr valve line

How much coolant do you think you added after the egr delete? About to do this as well but since I live in florida was just going to top off with distilled water if it was not a lot (no freeze worries)

If you have your car level (not on jack stand) when you take the egr coolant return line off, you won't lose a ton. Just stuff a rag in there and take the egr off makes life much easier.

I had only the front jacked up went from full line to about 1/3 above the low line. If your car is cool when doing it you'll loose less as well mine was warm
